Funny huh? I guess I'm normally such a happy and cheerful person and I need music that counterbalances that. Of course I love lots happy sounding music too....but always there has to be something musically or sonically interesting to hook me.
Was There Any Song That You Regarded As Special, That Got You In a Good Mood, etc...

Omigawd, there's SO many. I sing (professionally as a teenager/young woman; semi-professional as a hobby now), so there are SO many songs that are "special" to me.
The ONE song that is the MOST special to me, personally, is… "Sailing" by Christopher Cross. That song takes me on some of the greatest "mini vacations" in my mind and heart. I get chills… and feel SO at peace… every time I hear it. It's one of the reasons I live in the Bay Area (Calif.)... so I can be near the water and see the sailboats!
Here's a few others:
"From this Moment On" by Shania Twain, "Angel" by Sarah McLaughlin, the "Shadowland" album by K.D. Lang, and the "Love Decides" album by Jane Olivor (makes me think of my VERY kind and sweet husband…)
"Imagination, " "Lover's Holiday," and "It's All About Love," by Earth, Wind & Fire, and "Close to You" by the Carpenters (makes me think of my dear daddy, who died 2/4/1988)
"Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band and "Jada" by the Pointer Sisters (makes me think of my mom, who died on my 18th birthday, 10/6/1977…)
"Pretty Brown Eyes" and "Quit Breaking My Heart" by Mint Condition, "Tender Roni" by Bobby Brown, and "Hold On to Your Love" by En Vogue (makes me think of my beautiful and sweet daughter, a singer/songwriter, who's working on her first album…)
"Heartless" by Kanye West, "Big Poppa" by the Notorious B.I.G., and "This is How We Do It" by Warren G (makes me think of my wonderful son, who loves to [attempt to] sing the first, has a tattoo "Big Daddy" on his left arm, and taught me the words to the third)
"Rappers Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang, and anything from the "Ah, The Name is Bootsy, Baby" album by Bootsy Collins and the "AquaBoogie" album by Parliament (makes me think of my oldest friend and therefore "sister," and one of three BFFs, Boo, met at the school bus stop in 1971…)
"My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion (makes me think of another BFF and sister in Christ, Kim, and her hubby/kids, met at a gathering of "young anointed" in 1996…)
"No More Drama" by Mary J. Blige (makes me think of VV, my third BFF and another sister in Christ, met at a KH through our sons in 1992…)
And… pretty much anything by the Ohio Players, Beatles, Teena Marie, Chaka Khan, Parliament, James Brown, Carpenters, Earth, Wind & Fire, "Motown", Barbara Streisand, Santana, Patsy Cline, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, Andrea Bocelli, Queen, Mamas/Papas, Emotions, Michael Jackson, Moody Blues, Doors, Brass Construction, Pink Floyd, and Chicago… in that order…
Most things by Mariah Carey, Josh Groban, Pink, Christina Aguilera, Eagles, Steppenwolf, AWB, Michael Henderson, Luther Vandross, Jeffrey Osborn, and George Duke… and others…
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
Peace!
SA, of the "Obviously, You Don't Want to Ask Me About Songs, and Oh, Yeah, I Forgot They're Called 'CDs' Now " Class... on her own…

AGuest, I never realized you were a sista. Quit Breaking My Heart by Mint Condition is great! I saw them perform a few years back. Love that song!
