B-rock the anthropogenic era started 8,000 years ago not in 1950 or 150 years ago like some believe. The anthropocene theory states that humanity has been affecting the environment in a detrimental way since the Neolithic period and somewhat before. Everything from the clearing of forests to the growing of rice (rice paddies release methane) and mass extinction of animals through overhunting is part of the anthropocene. The industrial revolution accelerated the release of CO2. We probably would have been in a full blown ice age by now if it weren't for anthropogenic, that is man made, release of greenhouse gases.

Well it's funny how the last Ice Age ended a whole whopping 15k years ago. Must be woolly mammoth farts.

And wow, geez. Maybe we need a little warming up.

Bottom line? Fools who debate this subject cannot make a dent in the so-called "problem" due to lack of solid evidence before they take the big dirt nap no matter how much noise they make. They and I are just a bunch of windbagging idiots flailing swords around and claiming to know everything about this "problem." The plain truth is, NO one can really know all there is to know about this problem with current science.

That being said, it is ALL bullshit. And don't forget the windbagging.

To illustrate what I mean, I suggest all of you windbaggers read Jimmy Carter's so-called "malaise speech" from July of 1979. One generation ago, but it's still the same bullshit with the same windbagging about our energy problems. Energy problems IS the topic of this thread, you know.

This speech could have been made yesterday: same problems, same politics:

    Jimmy Carter's Malaise Speech

Note that President Carter NEVER used the word "malaise" even ONCE in his speech. That term was what the press used to vilify him for the tone of the speech, but he never used the word.
