AE, this is talking about texting or calling people who have not turned in their slips "on time."

I remember a couple of elders having the latest tech gadgets...always showing them off to us lowly folks.

I too have received requests for meetings through text.

I don't know much about this texting stuff but I have asked that they call me first instead of interrupting my work and they pay no attention to me because they think they are the authority. So I do not answer them on anything anymore.

Reminds me, one time I was an unbaptized publisher, and an elder picked me up to go out in service in another town, and the whole time he was calling people on his cell phone when ever he seen phone numbers on cars or motorcycles for sale, and on the way back home he was talking about DF queers from the congregation. I was wondering if he may be queer himself and was ready to get home and away from him.

It was rather scary riding with someone that does not even ask what or where you would like to go next. Talking about MEism the hypocrites...

I tried to have a talk with this elder sometime later and he does not even remember anything, and he asked why I wanted to talk to him.

Piss-on-him... I don't remember what the point is now. Ya! and the mother of this elder and of the main elders at this local cong. was making remarks about my dad's private parts to my mother.

How impersonal the $OB's are... They need a good A$$ whooping the child beating $OB's...

That is, until they start mentioning the "danger" of texting at the next Big Boasting Session. Already I am hearing talks about this issue (look for them at your a$$embly hell). At which point, they will lump texting along with the other social networks as rendering one "bad associations".

There was a part at the D.C. about texting a few years ago. It seemed rather silly to me to be gathered for "spiritual edification" and then hear 15+ minutes on texting and not showing proper appreciation for the spiritual provisions at hand. But that was the last I ever heard of it. Maybe the GB realized that is one thing that they cannot, and never will be, able to control.

In Ireland EVERYONE has a mobile phone with SMS text messaging (even landlines have it). I've been out for 2 years, but before that I was inactive for a few years. I would get the monthly SMS message requesting my report if I didn't fill in the paper form. I texted back a lot of 0's.

And no texting during the meetings or conventions either..........

*** km 4/07 p. 4 par. 3 Follow the Christ by Manifesting Dignity ***While the program is in session, it is not the time for needless talking, text messaging, eating, or roaming the corridors. Youths should be seated with their parents so that parents can help them to benefit from the program.
