I think you're confusing autism with something else AE. As a mother of an autistic child I'm not offended by your opinion because that's all it is...an opinion.

No, thats what we have been taught, it was many years ago....1995? 96? not my opinon by far. Maybe on google there is new research....my notes are well and truly boxed up in the loft but there was still much research to be done, Dr's were never really too sure.....sure google will say the same :)

my grandson is now 6 years old, extremely sociable & touchy feely, but is mute. He does make alot of his own sounds. He loves school and has many friends, just so adorable it breaks my heart to think I will never hear him call me grandma. He is also a little devil and knows how to get his own way.

AE....what is this connection with frontal lobes damage, not heard that one ??????

Am convinced it was connected to the vaccine, he was chattering non stop before that.....baby chatter I mean lol

Research on the cognitive deficits and neurology of individuals with autism suggests the presence of abnormalities in a number of areas. This may be because an early defect in the functioning of one or more areas of the brain alters the development of multiple other areas. The following sections describe evidence supporting dysfunctions in autism of four areas of the brain: The amygdala, the frontal lobe, the temporal lobe, and the cerebellum.

According to Temple Grandin symptoms that resemble frontal lobe damage are a big part of autism. In other words, a person with autism shows symptoms that are similar to someone with undeveloped frontal lobes, even though the autistic person does not have a smaller or damaged frontal lobe.

Grandin says: “…even though autistic people have a normal-sized neocortex including normal-sized frontal lobes, [autistic people’s] brains function as if [the] frontal lobes were either much smaller or not fully developed.”

Grandin theorizes that the appearance of frontal lobe problems in autistic people is caused by a lower than normal amount of communication between the frontal lobes and other parts of the brain.

In support of this hypothesis she states that while scientists have not found undeveloped frontal lobes in autistic people, they have found fewer connections between cortical regions and also between the cortex and the subcortex. The lack of connections (and therefore lack of communication) between parts of the autistic brain leads to less input from the rest of the brain into the frontal lobes. Without the proper input the frontal lobes can’t give proper output.

Certain cognitive and behavioural deficits suggest that thefrontal lobe functions abnormally in patients with autism, butlittle anatomical research is available to either verify orrefute this. In contrast, several neuropathological and neuroimagingstudies have demonstrated anatomical abnormalities in the cerebellumin autistic patients. The current study shows that frontal lobecortex volume is increased in a subset of patients with autismand that this increase correlates with the degree of cerebellarabnormality. This evidence of concurrent structural abnormalitiesin both the frontal lobe and the cerebellum has important implicationsfor understanding the development and persistence of the autisticdisorder.

JUST a few bits from google....frontal lobes mentioned many times.

As Autism is indeed a spectrum, hence my saying that my lovely and talented Father was slightly affected, I do not doubt that the brilliant Leolaia is also "on the spectrum"

And anyone wanting more info or help would benefit from P.M ing her , or discussing with her on open forum here , rather than with someone lacking in even basic common sense who due to posting rules Iwill not name but , her name on here begins with A and ends in S, no more clues now !

Did you notice that no references are quoted for her assertions, ??

I think judi8751 deserves some real help, not pseudo-science from people who know nothing, that can lead to making some AWFUL decisions.

    love
