The new members will be as dumb as a box of rocks.

They will be able to have coversations with George Bush and his Daddy.

In my old congregation the older members who I knew have all mainly died off.
When I was there we had Elders who were 60-70+ years old.
These were guys who did have a love for the congregation, and did care.
When they died off younger ones became Elders , a couple of them only in their 30's.
A few who I had known from when I became a JW.
The attitude of these was everything had to done the Watchtower way, no leeway.
Yet over the years since I left quite a few of these have either resigned as Elders, or even left.
I can think of about 3-4 of them who 10 years ago I would have said they would never leave the WT.
They were good strong spiritual mature brothers, brought up in the "truth".
Yet in the say last 5 years they just upped and left.

So is it a case of will the WT change as older ones die off.

Or a case of they are already losing ones, even younger ones, not through death, but walking away from the WT.

i can't see this happening for the next 20 years. the only "dumbed down ones" I see are the new ones and the ones 24/under.

I still quite a few zealots in their late 20's they are the biggest CO kiss asses out there!

the only way to stop the WT is in the wallet

    OnThe WayOut,

'Oh,They already did that' is great. End Times focused religions always have the same problem. Shake the rattle so the baby looks over there while changes are being made.

1914 and any doctrines related to specific end times will be replaced by a more general, the end must be close ideology similar to that of other religions.

The door to door work will end and be replaced by what used to be called "informal" witnessing, but will become known simply as witnessing to others

similar to that done by other religions.

Disfellowshipping will end and be replaced by a less formal shunning practiced more by word of mouth that by edict from the platform, similar to

    other religions.

Blood transfusion will continue to be considered a bad health choice but not demonized.

The religion that I knew as a child is already gone. Even the one I left 21 years ago really is only a shadow of its former self.

Well, I've already predicted a few changes happening over the course of say the next 50 years or sooner. That's not to say that they will occur, but looking at the trends, I cannot imagine at least one of these changes not occurring.

The doctrines concerning 1914 will be quietly dropped as it gets more and more difficult with each passing year to claim it as the 'truth.'

Birthdays may become a 'consceous matter' as the reasoning behind it is weak to start with. When you factor in the celebration of weddings and anniversaries and the parallel reasonings with birthdays, the whole shunning of birthdays becomes even harder to defend.

The society is in a pickle concerning the use of blood and I believe they will never come right out and allow it to be a conscious matter. Expect more changes though to what is allowed and what is not. Especially if a high ranking brother in the 'truth' faces a situation concerning some use of blood therapy. If the GB allows this brother to use whatever blood therapy that lies in the WT grey area, expect the society to follow suit.

While they may continue to put forth as 'models' people who have foregone college and career to put Kingdom interest first. The reality will hit them square in between the eyes and they will have to eventually admit to the possibility that one can pursue a career and pursue Kingdom interests at the same time.

I watch what has happened since I was a kid, and what my mom at 75 born and raised in, has come to accept from them. Her hopes have changed, but she still clings to 1914. Her mother converted in the early 1920's and she thought she would never die. They wore the placards, carried the phonographs from door to door and slept in tents during the assemblies. They were poorer than poor, and saved every last penny to get 8 kids sent across country to the New York assemblies. The parents actually stayed home so the kids could attend.

My mom is leaving the WT a nice chunk of change and also donated a large amount that she receives interest on until she dies. There won't be much more of that, if any, from my generation or beyond.

There are many who deny 1975 including CO's and PO's and just general newbies. My mom never allows the denials to go unchallenged and tends to shut everyone up if it happens in her presence. What I see is a slow but sure move away from 1914, 144,000,000, 1975, etc., etc. Just like anything before those time periods are ignored, books will be pulled and or denied. Internet r

As the old timers die and people leave from that time and before, there eventually will be no "eye witnesses" and history will be permanently re-written and denied.

" The doctrines concerning 1914 will be quietly dropped"

Gary ,that is not a prediction, they are already well on the way with that one.

WE MUST NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is their Achilles heel, 1914 being total rubbish and therefore the choosing of THEM in 1919 also rubbish means they are nothing but a bunch of deluded old farts who head a large publishing corporation that sells to 7 million deluded followers.

Could we have some suggestions from the sharp and innovative brains on here as to how we can publicise the above, not directly to Dubs, but to the Public, and halt the advance of this canker ?

Younger ones will come along, grow old, and die off, just as many others before them had done.

The message may change slightly, but as we have experienced over the years, it will be the same shit, but wrapped in a different package.

The religion will cease to have any historical sense of itself.

With all the old litterature being suppressed, younger ones will think this is how it has always been.

Teachings of only a few years before will be seen as that quaint old light.

The children will continue to leave in vast number, the only young people coming in will be the mentally unstable, and those who are nice and polite so cannot say a verb and a preposition to complete strangers.

YOung people now google new info , which is why the Kingdumb Hells are half full with OLD people.

Those born in will be baptise YOUNG and isolated from non JWs all their lives so they will be terrified to leave, or just get out for their sanity. (Much the same as how the Plymouth Brethren have gone downhill in this respect.)
