in convasation with a american recently i was introduced to the horrific concept of putting cream in tea?!? they in turn were appaulled by the idea of milk in tea with 12 sugars ( al la builders tea).

So before i put the kettle on, how do you take your tea?

( mine is english breakfast, milk no sugar, middle strenght)

Tetley tea, milk, no sugar, mid strength. And not too much milk please but not too little either. And I like it hot. The tea that is.

Hopscotch (aka Goldilocks when it comes to tea)

prefer tetley two sugars milk, as it comes but at least stirred enough you dont find both spoons of sugar at the bottom.

(and nooo i dont think the teabag needs to stay in the cup for the duration)

One of the best teas, hard to find (or impossible ?) that I enjoyed years ago was a Welsh company's tea, called Glengettie. It sounds more like a single malt whiskey !

The one I drink now, which comes close, is Yorkshire , I take that strong with little milk and no sugar,(remember that Nelly136 when Wifey and I come a-calling).

I also enjoy a good quality Earl Grey from time to time,no milk, no sugar.

I am an American who prefers tea; I never drink coffee.

Maybe 40-50% of the time I take black tea of various brews plain without sugar or cream, maybe 50-60% of the time I put some cream in it, and only rarely do I add sugar but usually the turbinado "Sugar-in-the-Raw" stuff.

Most of my tea consumption however is iced. And when it is iced, it is usually unsweetened....I like it black and bitter. If I add something, it might be a talking rain orange-mango to add flavour.
