We had a specially built assembly hall down near the everglades...I even helped build it! Actually, I was just a child so I think they made me feel like I helped, hehe. My favorite memory was the self serve soft ice cream. But they always put me on pasta salad duty, and to this day I hate pasta salad. ICK. ....

AwSnap, the Fort Lauderdale Assembly Hall? With those carvings on the wall you couldn't touch? Great design.... I grew up there....

I personally miss the diarrhea myself from the bad breakfast lunch combo of cheese danish, muff-n-egg (we got plenty of good jokes on muff-n-eggs...lol) and hoagies.

    Those were the days...

Yes, AlltimeJeff, the Ft. Laud. A$$embly Hall. I thought it was the most beautiful place on earth...like a Paradise . But I was just a child and probably listened to what the adults told me & my imagination was quite creative. It's been about 15 years since I've seen it....might look a bit different these days And I doubt they have the self serve anymore...

    ATJ and Snap,

I was still JW when I once visited my parents in Florida, and we took a tour of that assembly hall. I have 3 main memories -- the wall carvings (I think they had scriptures in French, Spanish and English), the pond in the back which may have had alligators, and the female tour guide about my age who wore a v-neck dress showing about an inch of cleavage which made my mom very upset (but not me, and my JW-elder dad didn't say anything about it). - Never thought I'd get to tell about it on JWN.

LLShasta -- welcome to the forum!! How about the fried chicken wrapped in a slice of bread to absorb the grease? Yum.

It would be funny if there were a blog about ass-embly food and jw fashions with pics. It would be hilarious.

Gopher, they couldn't keep those Gators out! They would inevitably find their way back...
