Ok . Im non- Jehovan witness, I am Athiest/Christian. Im 15.

I just want to ask why would people die for a belief instead of saving a life. A Life is much more sacred then a religion.

Life is everything, it gives you good and bad choices etc.

The Blood Transfusion, I was reading couple of articles on how Jehovahs Witness people actually would die for a belief.

It really got me mad. I read a woman actually let her son Die not allowing him to get a blood transfusion. With just a few drops, it could of saved his life. But she said NO. Like thats really stupid to be honest. Its your son. Would you care for your son to have a great future or to let them die for a belief . Its just blood... Come on. At least some one took the chance on helping that boy. But they refuse.

So if your a parent or would be a parent or just anyone.. Would you save your child, if they needed blood. Think about their future, Why were they born in the first place. Right.. To live. and be happy.

Im not discriminating. Im being honest.

    Reply ASAP.

    Welcome LadyxNova !

It's good to have you with us.

You will find that on this board , most are ex-JW's and agree with you that the WT teaching about Blood and Blood Transfusions is morally, and scripturally, wrong.

When we were in the cult we viewed things differently. Just as a parent may send his son or daughter to war, and let them die that way, we were willing to risk the life of our children for a false belief. We now spend our efforts trying to educate JW's and others.

How far I would have gone I cannot say, I love my two sons so much, that I think I may have allowed a transfusion in the end if it meant there life, I don't know.

It is difficult for one such as yourself to appreciate the mind-control exercised by cults like the WT/JW, but look up on the Net about the Jim Jones cult and you can see the dreadful effect of mind-control.

    Welcome again,

    Love

Thank you. At least you have a sence of mind Of love. And actually thinking about your sons.

Its just not fair. But still , you shouldnt risk your children for a belief. They are your children, gods children. Its like taking them away.

A belief should be hoping everyone is happy etc. If there wasnt blood transfusion, lives would be lost.

Sometimes Religion shouldnt interrupt saving a Life. eg Believing Blood trans. is wrong, and stay with their beliefs.

Unless you've ever been in a cult you will never undersand the mindset of a jw. Many people on this board risked their lives by submitting to the cult. I never had to face the blood issue, but I did risk my life for several years by remaing married to a mentally ill jw husband who physically abused and threatened to kill me. People will do almost anything to stay in a cult when they're brainwashed to do so.

    Welcome.

Sadly, there are a lot of JWs in a kind of trance. They've been taught that it's sacred to kill your children for God, such as Abraham was asked to do to Isaac. Maybe some of them even think that, like in that Bible story, an angel will come to tell them the killing's been 86ed.

    Kinda sick, really.

But then this is also part and parcel of the WTS mindset against really being connected to anyone or anything on Earth - the world is full of sin and error, nothing is worth saving, only following the rules of the WTS is important.

Once you believe that, any manner of evil is possible in a krazy kult.

There is nothing more sacred than life and no responsibility greater than being a parent and having the life of your child in your hands.

    Choose life, period.

    Life, life & Life.

I once refused to allow the doctors the use of blood during an operation on my throat, thank goodness the op went ok, so everything was fine, in the months after that i decided if i needed blood i would accept it. that was almost 30 years ago.

    Hi LadyxNova

The leaders, writers and policy makers in the JW faith have seen to it that the rank and file are horribly misinformed on this issue. It is only the broad protections afforded under the banner of "Freedom of religion" that protects them from prosecution.

Most JW's truly, honestly believe that transfusion medicine is bad; that it has killed far more people than it has saved; that there are always quality medical alternatives; and that doctors who resort to transfusion are "Lazy."

When a JW dies in obedience to this teaching, their family and friends are stunned and devastated. --Very sad, really.

I would die to protect a friend's life. I would die because my religious beliefs do not coincide with others and they choose to kill me because of that. I would do my best to escape them, but if caught, I wouldn't recant my beliefs. For if we disown Jesus in front of men, he will dosown us in front of the Father and the heavenly angels.
