If Jesus was the son of God it would seem likely that his whole inner self, his whole nature, his whole being knew that he was. It would be similar to someone today who is certain of their sexual preference, for them there is no doubt, they know that for them that's just the way it is. If Jesus was the son of God then it must have been similar, he knew without a doubt. His Father would have also helped him to dispel any doubts by providing proofs.
