Some scamers are hacking into facebook accounts with a story about being robbed while on vacation, and then ask you to wire them money.

I got that from someone too. Not on facebook. Someone had hacked into a friend's hotmail account and sent an email to one of his distribution lists. I just happened to know he was not on vacation because he was at my house a few days earlier.

I can sell you a bridge to go over Heaven's swamp.

Apparently you only need to find one idtiot out of a million e-mails to make this worth doing.

Typical of the scam/spams I get in my regular email. Surprised to hear your getting it on the forums mail, I know I shouldn't be because when it comes to scamming for money you'll find it everywhere.

I would be extremely careful before sending any money, because there are way too many scams preying on people to send money to Africa to help children out of the country. Unless this is a well-known charity designed to help sponsor a child, I would not send even a penny to support these scams. Additionally, I would report it to the authorities so they can get busted for pulling this scam.
