You aren't kidding about "worthless, dependent and passive aggressive". In fact, I can in all honesty say I know some who are not even responsible adults in their forties. With the exception of their ministry, they are almost totally dysfunctional. My biggest issue and number one beef with the religion was their stand against college education and careers and how this creates people you described. The problem is that these types of people are 'inflicted' on other responsible persons. The religion couldn't care less.

I don't know that the Governing Frauds discuss this topic as bluntly as I have but I have little doubt that their thinking is moving in this direction.
They see the lousy donations, the brothers who don't want to be elders, the "preaching work" that wastes literature and makes few converts - and the childish publishers and discreetly feel contempt for the people they have gathered.
At some point in the near future, they will conclude, "Brothers, exactly what's the point of all this?" "Gathering publishers who do nothing but create more problems? What are we doing?"

What they really want is people that are content when everything they do is what someone else (the Washtowel Slaveholdery) tells them to. People that are low quality are more likely to be like that than people that are well educated and better integrated in thinking.
I bet this is why they want witlesses to do poorly in school (boasting sessions on school nights until 10 PM, field circus every afternoon right after school). They also don't want witlesses going online (research doctrines), or to have outside associations (different viewpoints).
