It's not just in canada, it's in ONTARIO canada. Ontario might very well, probably, most likely lead the country in political correctness. Not blaming any of the ontario posters for this. Just an observation.

So if someone wrote a story about murdering someone would that person be guilty of murder? Should they go to jail or be sent to a mental institution? How about someone who writes extremely graphic stories of rape murder and cannibalism?
Of course, this can be taken even a step further. Maybe everyone who has ever viewed a violent movie as "entertainment" should be brought to trial and jailed.

Yes, you can't say what you think here any more. You can lose your job, get sued, or find yourself in jail. It seems we're losing more of our freedoms every day.

Or the therapist could see the subject and simply deem them as no threat whatsoever and this is a creative outlet.
But that IS what happened, read it again, a therapist interviewed him and said he presented no threat to the community.
To be consistent, people who write crime novels must also be arrested and imprisoned.
No amount of wonderful "free" healthcare is worth this kind of oppression.
