Stealth, that is a dot.org for Jarka's defense fund? Do they say who they are? For some strange reason, I really don't want to go there...

For some strange reason, I really don't want to go there...
Yea, I'd be wary. Ya never know when you might need a defense fund and people will think it's a scam because you looked up other defense funds on the Internet.
Just sayin...

Well, then, why don't you go there in the Undercover undercover mode and tell everybody what it is all about?

What and blow my cover for when I need a defense fund?
I think we're all screwed if we take into account how much we post here, so maybe it doesn't matter after all...

JWoods, Yes. The home page indicates that it is from family & friends. Looks to be home grown web-site.

"Isabelle Jarka suffered almost a dozen blows to her head with a blunt object resulting in a fracture to her skull and injuries to her brain, Dr. Joseph Cohen testified. The doctor could not establish a time of death nor could he say with certainty what object delivered the fatal blows"
It's not like CSI is it?
"Despite the best efforts of Murrieta police, she said, there was no physical evidence linking her client to Isabelle’s brutal death.
Perhaps he did'nt do it?

So, I posted my comment there:
The murder in the Jarka family is tragic. Evidently, a jury found that Mr. Jarka did this horrible crime. While he did not have to be a Jehovah’s Witness to do the crime, it seems that his religion had an apparent role in what happened. That the elders would try to cover over what he did is shameful. That kind of policy has caused their religious corporation to lose millions of dollars in lawsuits over them hiding child molesters in the congregations. Another factor is that apparently a Jehovah’s Witness is taught to deny medical treatment to their children, even to the point of letting them die, in order to comply with the way their religious leaders interpret certain passages in the Bible. Another key doctrine that Jehovah’s Witnesses have is the literal slaughter of billions of people who are not in their religion at the end time Armageddon event. This is illustrated in graphic images in many of their publications, even children's books. This kind of thinking could certainly desensitize a person to caring about the suffering and death of others.

Intresting find when I put in 20/20 kelle jarka on google search... Guess 20/20 will be doing a story on this case.
"We had Legal Correspondent Jim Avila and a camera crew interviewing one of our attorneys for a piece on 20/20 today.
The case concerns a man named Kelle Jarka who has been convicted of murdering his wife...
For anyone interested, the link to the family's website regarding the case is here: http://jarkainnocent.org/
I don't have enough information about the case to judge whether he is actually guilty or innocent, but what I do know is that he got one of our very BEST trial attorneys, although based on the family's website, you would think that she was working with limited resources...
The family is trying to gather $$ to hire Mr. Jarka a private attorney, believing that the Public Defender doesn't have access to the same resources as a private attorney, which is just wrong...
Additionally, although I won't go into any specifics, due to a pending motion/sentencing and possible appeal, the family got at least one of the facts dead wrong (pardon the pun).
As a side note: I'm frequently amused, when I ask a client who their attorney is, and I get the response, "I don't have an attorney, I have a Public Defender...", as if we just pulled some guy off the sidewalk, stuck him in a suit and sent him into the courtroom with a briefcase...Newsflash - Public Defenders ARE attorneys with Law Degrees & Bar Cards & everything...!" -

During the trial, prosecutor Burke Strunsky described Jarka as a man so enamored with his upper-middle-class lifestyle and position within his congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, that he was willing to sacrifice the life of his loving wife to maintain it.
Pretty sad when you're willing to kill your wife to maintain your 'position' in the congregation---especially as there's not supposed to be any hierachy amongst God's Chosen Ones.
Since the verdict, a Web site supporting Jarka has been soliciting donations and trying to show that he was wrongly convicted. The site, which indicates is “dedicated to the Kelle Jarka and his defense against the false charges against him,” claims that police and prosecutors convicted the wrong man. It also accuses Murrieta police officers of lying during the trial and that investigators overlooked evidence because they had made of their minds that Kelle had committed the crimes.
Gee, maybe he can get the help of Scott Peterson and O.J. Simpson to clear his good name. That is, if either of those pieces of shit can spare any time as they look for the 'real killers' of their own wives. Scott Peterson's family also has a website dedicated to 'helping clear Scott of this wrongful conviction' which is pathetic. I'm sure at this point, divorce didn't seem like such a bad idea afterall.
