"Tell her you don't like girls. That'll do it."

Unfortunately minimus she may start gossiping and give elsewhere a reputation at work for being gay.

Tell her you are truly Robert Blake, that will do it.

I think you are reading way too much into it. Some females are just like that. A man would come right out and face the situation head on. No lies just tell the truth.......

Just tell her that you don't believe in blurring the line between professional and social relationships, and that her flirting is making you uncomfortable enough to feel sexually harassed. You've politely ignored her, hoping she'd clue-in, but now it really needs to stop.

By the way, for all you know, she could be setting you up for some lame ass sexual harassment charge. For that reason alone, I'd recommend documenting retrospectively on some of the more memorable interactions, and start documenting them as they happen after you tell her. She may be the type that will try harder once she's aware that you are unattainable... and she may claim sexual harassment after you ask her to stop pestering you. Having your documentation in order will save your ass in a big way.

I like what finally free said: tell her you don't mess around with people from work. I've used that one before. Although, it can be a hinderance if a really hot girl starts working there & you want to mess around.

But now for a serious answer.

What really is the problem that a little bit of time won't fix?

And meanwhile, if you really don't have time to talk, there are ways to say that w/o being rude, ie: "I'm sorry I'm distracted, but I have to get this work done before..." or "sorry to be elsewhere, but I'm lost in thought about this code they have me working on" or "your story is putting me to sleep".

She'll either get the message, or she'll ask you out. Which would give you a perfect opportunity to politely decline.

Just eat a big Ole pile of onions before you have a conversation with her.Only this time, your the one who talks and talks and talks. That should do the trick.

If you want to draw the other employee's attention so it embarrass her so that she may slack off.

Tell: about this new camera that has a new type of shutter that works really well, the shutter opens and closes so fast that it can actually take a picture of a woman with her mouth shut.

I'm not convinced. Nothing is that fast.
