DGP: That software is totally redundant. I think all browsers allow for anonymous surfing, or at least give a very easy way to delete the history. I use firefox, it can allow for totally anonymous surfing, ie. no cookies, no history.
Also, the IP is not really relevant since it is difficult to tie it to a name and many have dynamic ips.
I'm surprised it took them this long! You wait, the KM will be there in some fashion in the not too near future. It makes sense and should save them a ton of cash. It's volunatry for the moment but I give them 6 months to a year before it becomes "strongly suggested" that the study WTs be downloaded by individual pubs. If I were them, I would have done this years ago.
Just another item in the expense reducing trend. Not critizing, just pointing out that the need to reduce costs is a top priority at the WTS, Inc.
anything that forces JWs to use the evil internet is most welcome in my books.
I love the fact the real truth is only a few clicks away. Let's hope all JWs develop a healthy curiosity about the information available on the internet.

whether these watchtowers are made puvlic or not does not absolve them of the fact that they purposely water down the awake and field service watchtower.
the "study edition" watch tower is very cultish and strict and has language that would scare undoctrinated people
I wonder what all of the uber dubs like my mom will do if the Watchtower starts to insist on printing the study articles from watchtower.org . She doesn't even have a computer in her house, let alone Internet access. Maybe she'll call her df'd daughter or faded son to have them printed for her, LOL!
Da Cheech, I agree with you. The study edition CAN be too much for a worldly. And there's more. What would an elder think if he knew I have a copy of the "Pay Attention to your Flock" book, that I got over the internet?

yes, i remember , about 93-94 i use to print out all the scriptures for the current study,,,,they helped me immensely,,,,only to be told

Where did this 'excerpt' from your elder friend come from exactly - a Kingdom Ministry? I'm a bit sceptical until I see it officially.

I think by "publisher" they mean the WTBTS , so no need to register.
I think that this was a fairly obvious step for the society - part of the costcutting & downsizing. I reckon that sooner or later they will expect all the JW only Watchtowers and Kingdom Ministries to be downloaded & printed out. Perhaps for an interim period they will still publish some , but encourage as many as possible to download & print off. Ultimately when they go fully electronic some hapless ministerial servant will be assigned to print out copies for all the oldies.
