It was just announced by letter to all congregations
that there's going to be new construction in Walkill .

New Housinging building s added, new multi-storey parking garage added as well.

They're asking for Bros with good spiritual qualifications
from ages 19-55 to work from one week, to 3 months.

If a Bro applies to work for a month of more
and is married the sister needs to apply too.

If a brother is over 55 he can still apply
since "as done in the past" if there is a shortage
of volunteers they may begin taking older brothers.

    Darn...that leaves me out.

I'm glad I never got around to "volunteering" to work on building projects at Bethel. I wasted enough time on RBC projects and an assembly hall. At least those were just weekends and I didn't have to waste my paid time off to work for free for someone else.

I guess it's "bye-bye Brooklyn Heights"...... that may rouse the ghosts of the Pastor and Da Judge!

This was announced at the svc mtg last night where I am too. The letter specifically said that the project is anticipated to take "several years." When I heard that, I asked my husband how the hell they can reconcile "several years" with the repeated incantation of "imminent" at the last DC to describe Armgdn's approach. Maybe the br. writing the letter never made it to his DC?

Makes me so mad how this org can say what it wants for its own purposes and no one EVER holds them accountable. Talk about duplicitous!!

As many problems as I have with the org, I never understood the problem with planning ahead???? It's an organization. They make plans. Get over it.

Right before 1975, the Society had new projects planned out TEN YEARS into the future while praising the worker bees for selling their homes, cashing in their retirement plans, postponing marriage and families and pioneering in the "weeks, not months" before Armageddon. It is obvious they don't even believe their own bullshit.

I've never seen a more cynical group of lying bastards than those leaders in Brooklyn. They are self-serving criminals. All of them.

I wonder who they would pick if they only had two choices: one brother had "good spiritual qualifications", but couldn't swing a hammer, and another brother didn't have such "good" spiritual qualifications, but was a master carpenter.

I'd bet a cup of coffee that the "good" requirement would go straight into the toilet in that case.

What kind of projects did they have planned out 10 years Farkel. Just curious, really.

Do they ever announce to their "brothers" when they sold a Brooklyn building for so many "millions" of dollars?!
