So the pioneers never got a form letter from the WTS every year that the elders were to use to meet with each regular pioneer to encourage them? I'm not making this up you know. Maybe I'm not describing it accurately. As to the "dinner" I did say that was at the decision of the body of elders in each congregation.

Yes we had the letter but being my husband was the only elder and the other pioneers really did not like us, it was always like pulling teeth to get together. It seemed to take weeks and weeks to get together at the hall for a hour to go through the letter. Then when more elders moved in, it never got any better. None of the other elders seemed to care about doing it either. If I remember it right we were to do it around the first of the year, but we did it in February or March.
The letter never encouraged me just made me feel worse like was not doing enough.
