The "Truth" Is A Huge Waste Of Time!

My mother still has hope I'll come back to the "Truth". I think back at the utter boredom I suffered week after week for years sitting through the dull spiritually edifying meetings. I never understood why people would WANT to sit there only to hear repetition and more repetition. Even answering a question had to be a carbon copy of a written statement in the publication being "studied".

I must sound like a real "apostate" saying "The Truth is a huge waste of time", huh?

I find myself wasting the same amount of time reading this website and all of the other info that I can get about it.

When will it all just go away?

You sound like one, but you still look like a 7-Up dot...

I agree with you wholeheartedly. In my case 42 years of wasted weekends and evenings. Trying to earn salvation through meeting stringent requirements that did nothing but heap guilt and frustration on me. Yes a waste of time and a waste of life.

That's a good question. (jealous mini?)

Depends on each of our own circumstances. Some are able to walk away and never look back. It helps if you don't have a lot of family in, or you're willing to cut them out of your life.

Those of us with JW family, we will always have some amount of JW shit in our lives. Some days/weeks are better than others. It does get better over time. I'm out, never going back, but still have JW family and have to put up with the occasional snide comments or judgement of my life. I like to stay on top of the latest WT news so I can be one step ahead of them and maybe I'll pick up some tidbits that I can use to help a couple of them to think for themselves. And sometimes I need the support of people here who know what I'm going through.

Agree totally with undercover. Also because of all the years I spent in the 'untruth' I do feel a need to help others so they don't get caught up in this sect. I regularly read comments on this site and make sure I keep up to date with Watchtower changes. It is only a small part of my life now, but I wouldn't want to completely forget my experience with them, for there were good times as well as bad.

    Are you saying..

    Providing free labour..

Donating your free time and money..

    To a Multi-Billion dollar organization(WBT$)..

That does Nothing and Provides Nothing..

    Is a waste of time?..

    WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CLUE?..

Try this with your JW friends and family. . .

When they return from a meeting or an assembly, ask them: "Will you please tell me what new things you learned?"

They rarely ever have an answer.

Imagine, spending decades of your life attending meetings, but never learning anything new. It's like a truck, stuck in the mud, spinning its tires.
