As I wrote letters to the Society and made comments locally my priviledges were steadily removed, no talks, no prayers, no comments, no readings.
Did the elders withhold privileges from you too long?

My priviledges were never granted due to poor service time. I couldn't hold microphones, but a 9 year old could! Towards the last year before I left, I was not allowed to say prayer at book study, and wasn't allowed to read!
However, losing priviledges actually helped me leave. With less vested in the day to day as a JW, it made leaving that much easier. They actually helped me leave!

Isn't it stupid, immature, patronising, condescending to withhold privileges from someone who is an honest, decent person all because you dont turn in enough time, or have certain doubts about a particular WTS doctrine, yet a repentant child rapist who may have even served time in jail and is actively raping kids and has not been caught gets the nod to read in the B/S or close with a prayer? It would be almost funny if it wasn't so true and tragic.
