I'm sure he has no idea how much his beautiful words and gentlemanly bearing helped me through my ups and downs and crazy turns-around, but helped me they did!
The carefully crafted sentences that flowed from his gifted heart and pen were like balm from Gilead to my boisterous soul. I would read his works and immediately a stillness would creep into my anxious mind.
It is said by some that when the student is ready, a teacher will appear. Thank you, my teacher, for touching me and teaching me in such a winsome manner.
Yours in gratitude forever.

Hear, hear!!!! I second the motion!
Thank you, too, Baba Dear!
I need to write a dash more the gothic lore,
To bring you cheer and that splash of gore.

A Quiet Little Corner
What is it about corners that can make us feel either secure or insecure?
If, as children, we were made to stand in a corner, we felt lost and alone.
If, as adults, we were backed into a corner, we felt trapped and defensive.
However, there is another aspect to corners that can make us feel safe and content - sitting and reading a favorite book, sewing or knitting, enjoying a fragrant cup of tea while letting the world slip past.
The womb, a cul-de-sac where we experienced our first consciousness, is a sort of corner in itself - only one way out, naturally.
Could this be the reason why we are so drawn to corners?
My thanks to the poster, NotACaptive/Maeve for inspiring my thoughts on this.

Dear Syl:
What an inspiration!
Beauty and grace, borne upon the wings of despair,
Gently raise this tortured man 'bove all worldly care.
The best I could give, bleary-eyed, uncaffeinated me,
Twelve syllables a line ...
Thank you so much.
Love,
CoCo
Lovely, Sylvie! Reminds me of the Rogers & Hammerstein's song from Cinderella:
In My Own Little Corner
I'm as mild and as meek as a mouse
When I hear a command I obey.
But I know of a spot in my house
where no one can stand in my way.
In my own little corner in my own little chair
I can be whatever I want to be.
On the wings of my fancy I can fly anywhere
and the world will open its arms to me.
I'm a young Norwegian princess or a milkmaid
I'm the greatest prima donna in Milan
I'm an heiress who has always had her silk made
By her own flock of silkworms in Japan
I'm a girl men go mad for love's a game I can play with
cool and confident kind of air.
Just as long as I stay in my own little corner
All alone in my own little chair.
I can be whatever I want to be.
I'm a slave from Calcutta I'm a queen in Peru.
I'm a mermaid dancing upon the sea
I'm a huntress on an African safari.. it's a dangerous type of sport and yet it's fun
In the night I sally forth to seek my quarry
And I find I forgot to bring my gun.
I am lost in the jungle all alone and unarmed when I meet a lioness in her lair
Then I'm glad to be back in my own little corner,
All alone in my own little chair.
Beautiful!
Thanks, everyone, for helping TADP receive 300 hits since Wednesday!

I'm off to our local park of giant oaks to draw some little inspiration from their hugeness ...
Something, something, poems and fools like me, but only God can make a tree ...
