or so i was told as a kid ( jw kid) i asked why... " because they are evil!" was the best reply they could come up with. I did wonder at the time why people would bother to do that when surely they must have better things to do with their time???

i also used to wonder why i never heard of an apostate coming back to the JW's? shame i never followed that thought up...

I think the witless faith is so full of holes that it can do a pretty good job at destroying itself. Otherwise, you would be having as many apostates finding their way back in (and active witlesses actually being able to get apostates back in).

same here, was a believer in god, even remember being a 7 year old catholic and had such a love in reading the psalms and the books of:matthew, john, luke, and mark.

after going through their bullshit for more than 35-40 years, i have lost all faith.

i go through the motions of a jw, but inside I AM A JW APOSTATE

To a black&white thinking mind controled cult member, apostates all fall under one big bad category, that is evil, hateful, and headed for destruction. But the truth of the matter is not so black&white. Many apostates are closet apostates who still go to meetings held captive not by faith in the organization but through fear of loosing their loved ones, they play the game and use the cult speak lingo never letting on to other cult members their true feelings and legitimate concerns.

Other apostates like myself are understandably angry over the wasted time working for the interest of the cult(while in their prime and some times spanning decades), and the hardship the cult has caused in their relationships with close friends and family members. This anger( in my case mild and purposeful and directed only at those at the top who control things) is interpreted by fully indoctrinated cult members as unjustified and an indication that they under the control of God's great arch enemy Satan. But the truth is far from the such uninformed indoctrinated categorization.

There are many other categories, I would suppose as many as there are apostates, it all depends how anal you want to get. But to the cult member who is thoroughly indoctrinated there is only one category the one that his indoctrinators made up to fit every one who leaves and stops believing. Its all black&white with no shades of gray and definitely no colors, to the indoctrinated and uninformed.

Is it even possible to apostasize from a belief system that was founded on apostasy? Isn't that a double negative?
