I make my cornbread. Then I add 2 chopped boiled eggs, lots of finely chopped celery and onion that has been sauted in butter. Sage to taste, I like lots, then enough chicken broth to get it really moist. Bake seperate from turkey. I don't like it in the bird either. It is sooo good served with turkey gravy and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoe casserole, green beans, hot rolls, and iced tea. Yummy. For dessert, pumpkin pie, pecan pie and ice cream.

Giada! And Ina... and Lidia... and Michael Chiarello... and Nick Stellino... and Martin Yan... and Ming... and, oh yeah, Rick Bayless and Daisy Martinez (my favorites! How does Daisy cook all of those DELICIOUS meals... and never even break a "mist," let alone perspire?!).

I have to be in the mood for Paula Dean... and the Neeleys, though (Lord, if he don't quit trying to tongue that poor woman to death right there in the kitchen!!). I can take Sunny from time to time... and Sandra Lee (if she's fixing somethin' "good").

I CANNOT get into Nigella (well, into her cooking)... for the LIFE of me. And dear, dear Rachel Ray... well, for some reason her voice now grates on my nerves a little (but I really do like her!).

Anyway... peace, all... and HAPPY stuffing days!

    A slave of Christ,

SA, a Food Network "nut"... who will one day have the kitchen of her dreams (i.e., one that has either a Wolf, Viking, or Five Star GAS stove with grill; Subzero or similar fridge, with glass doors!!)... or close to it... okay, maybe not SO close, but gas... and stainless steel... and so maybe WILL become a "kitchen diva" after all... but right now "makes do" with her double oven electric range that is SO old the numbers are worn off the dials and so only she can cook on it and not risk burning everything... (but Mama loves you, dear stove - really, she does - and so don't go gettin' all mad and start burnin' stuff... )

So do you bake it seperately, or stuff the turkey?

My secret ingredient in my stuffing is shredded Asiago cheese. I make mine with homemade cornbread, onions, celery, eggs, milk, butter, same as everyone, but I put in a full piece of that cheese and it makes it so rich and scrumptous everyone always loves it.

This year, unfortunately I won't get to have T-Day, I've been pretty seriously ill and my immune system isn't up to company yet, but I plan on making up for it at Christmas.

    Good topic!

omg, Rachael Ray drives me up the wall. And yah, I think it's her voice. BUT Paula Deen's nasally thing is almost worse. BUT I love her style. Ol' Southern Destroyin the Arteries Style is perfect. She has this recipe for baked brie that I've been wanting to try for so long. The Neely's HAH yah they're a riot. He is too funny with her. They make a cute couple. I have a soft place in my heart for Alton Brown. His Good Eats is a crack up and I am always learning something new. Sandra Lee is clever.

My little one has gotten used to watching Iron Chef with me.

And if you ever get a kitchen like that, I'm coming for dinner!! LOL

Stuffed in the turkey. I like to get the double cheeseburgers with bacon and jalepenos that way you dont even need to really spice them up at all though some people like to add little things to like some celery, a little chicken broth, salt and pepper. About a dozen does fine for your average turkey.

Thank god some can't stand Rachel Ray....that voice sends me over the edge, and if you can cook an entire meal in 30 minutes, ...it's mac and cheese in a box, and lettuce out of a bag.

Giada, or who ever she is I cannot stand either...her recipes usually stink. (I've tried a few....never again)

I've made many a good recipe from Ina and Paula Dean. Tyler's Ultimate has also come up with some great stuff. Everyone else...PEEEE UUUUU!

Those two Neelys are ridiculous, flirting, and making stupid comments. I made her chocolate cake....it was horrible, no one would eat it and I threw it out.

    I too love iron chef.

    Thanks for all your input.

At least Rachel's recipes are generally good. It took me years to be able to sit through even half of a show. Clear your throat!!

Giada?? She drives me nuts! Parrrrrrrrrmessssssssaaaaaaaaaaaanooooooo, Spaaaaaaaaaahgeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeete. She sooooo overpronounces every Italian word, and she's such a white girl!

Michael Chiccarelli is just too good to be true. I feel like I'm being sold swamp land when I watch him.

Paula is fun to watch, but my god! Who said artery destroyin'? I once watched her make bread pudding (which I happen to love). She chopped up Krispy Kreme donuts as the bread, made the custard with sweetened condensed milk and of course threw in some butter, then made a sugary buttery rum sauce to ladle over top! I had a heart attack right there in front of the TV.

    Alton Brown is awesome.
