I'll check it up, but it will take a couple of hours, so perhaps someone else has done it meanwhile, but I will check it up.

Brother who was the only elder in my congregation at that time, simply rejected the diagram of “creative days”, and that was his decision.

You can bet he was not 'vocal' about his decision before that. I remember a few years after '75, one elder, with self-righteous tone in a large group at someone's home, stated he didn't believe the end was going to be by '75. I quickly spoke up and stated, "well, no one spoke like that then!" He looked "daggers" at me. I think, it's somewhat hypocritical of someone in position to disagree with something so extremely pronounced by an organization and not speak up.

Of course he was not vocal. He was not rebellious. But it is known fact that he rejected that (there was some diagram about creative days). I asked him about one brother last year... and he said "O, I remember him... He was among brothers who accepted the "1975 diagram"". I asked: "Does it mean that there were some brothers who didn't accept that?" "Of course", he said. "It was not so important thing as it seems today. Even though it came from the GB, we were free to accept that or to reject that. The only thing we were not allowed to reject were fundamental truths. The 1975 [that date] was not one of fundamental truths." "Did you accept or reject that idea?" I asked him. He didn't want to be self-righteous, so he said that this idea dropped out, and it is not important to speak about that today. He read me Acts 1:6-8 and explaind that even apostles had wrong expectations concerning the TIME, not the ISSUE. They were right - JESUS WILL "RESTORE THE KINGDOM", but NOT NOW. Brother said me: "I was sure Jehovah will destroy this wicked system, but will it be in 1975... I was not so sure. So I didn't reject that loudly, but I didn't accept that." Of course, in his mind he rejected that. He was even a CO, and he is an elder in my congregation today.

I am pretty sure that "1975 teaching" was not malicious teaching. But I still have a question above. Is it possible that Adam was so old guy?

    Titus,

I am not sure why you don't bring this up with the elders in your congregation, as Jesus said, "the truth shall set you free", in this case I am sure they can set you free of your "concerns".

Do you not Trust your elders?

I do trust my elders, of course. But they don't have enough time to explore issues like this.

Are you, PSacramento, an active Witness?

Follow what is written in the bible Titus, do not follow any false prophets that sells books, magazines, DVD, CD and so on.

No matter how you look at the JWS they will always come out wrong.

    Titus,

No, I am not a JW.

I am not sure why you think something like this would require a great deal of time for the elders to answer you.

    Days?

What about the length of the creative days? Were they literally 24 hours long? Some claim that because Moses—the writer of Genesis—later referred to the day that followed the six creative days as a model for the weekly Sabbath, each of the creative days must be literally 24 hours long. (Exodus 20:11) Does the wording of Genesis support this conclusion?

No, it does not. The fact is that the Hebrew word translated “day” can mean various lengths of time, not just a 24-hour period. For example, when summarizing God’s creative work, Moses refers to all six creative days as one day. (Genesis 2:4) In addition, on the first creative day, “God began calling the light Day, but the darkness he called Night.” (Genesis 1:5) Here, only a portion of a 24-hour period is defined by the term “day.” Certainly, there is no basis in Scripture for arbitrarily stating that each creative day was 24 hours long.

How long, then, were the creative days? The wording of Genesis chapters 1 and 2 indicates that considerable lengths of time were involved.

    Welcome Titus....!!!!!

The men on the Governing Body disagree with each other and older interpretations, why are they not considered 'rebellious' or any of the other negative label given for those who aren't 'lock-step' with 'current' light?

I am not sure what you heard at this season's DC.....but I heard Geof Jackson (GB since 2005) say that 1914, 1925, & 1975 as 'doomsday dates' were a result of the 'slave' being 'over eager' akinning it to the Apostles expecting the end in their lifetimes too. Now mind you for a R&F JW to do this it is called 'running ahead'.....but I digress..... In the end as of the 2009-2010 DC 1975 is just an 'ooops' moment and official 'old light'.

We (yes, I attend regularly too) encourage others to 'examine' things like their religion's stances and history........maybe the time has come for you too to examine things.... Please learn about the Watchtower History

Because it is very complex matter... I don't need their answer, in fact. I know that Adam was (according to official doctrine) at least 34 years alone. I just want to hear some opinoins on that issue, does it really make any sense. He was like a Robinson Crusoe!

Yes, almighty Homer, I do follow Bible, but I know that I would not have understood any letter of Scriptures "unless someone guided me" (Acts 8:31). GB is not my leader or master of my faith! But I must be humble and accept guidance, as Ethiopian did.
