ahar! that's where my plan comes in. Basically, we need everyone here to get re-instated and claim to be in the remnant. Then when all the GB are dead, they will have to choose us to run the Watchtower.

What happens when they are all dead?
That's when new light reveals that they had the chronology all wrong. Sincere though they were, in their zeal for God they attempted to understand things he was not ready to reveal. We now know, due to increasing light, that those events describing the last days apply to OUR time--in the 21st century--and OUR generation.
Those faithful men of the 20th and late 19th centuries collectively made up the "John the Baptizer class", a voice crying in the wilderness, "Make the pathways straight for the coming of our lord!" Now, in the REAL last days, in OUR day (not the false ones of last century) our lord has arrived in invisible glory; he has examined the religions of the world and found those most closely adhering to bible truth, and appointed them over all his belongings. They make up a "Messiah class", collectively representing the physical presence of our lord on earth during his parousia in these perilous last days.

Something like that is coming, Ken. All they need is another charismatic visionary like Freddy or da Judge, somebody who isn't scared to stomp all over their icons. The rank and file knows how ridiculous it is to apply their tired old year-dates and chronology to the present. Everybody knows that stuff worked back in Rutherford's time, when it was current; when 1914 and 1919 had just passed and Cedar Point, Ohio in 1924 was just yesterday, and 1925 was still just ahead; but it has no meaning for witnesses today.
But witnesses today don't want to abandon their traditional religion and their patterns of living. They're willing sheep; they only need a shepherd to lead them.
Think how happy the R&F would be if they could apply things to themselves! If their chronology were current, happening now to them rather than just a dusty relic of past lives! They could keep their religion and get all fired up and excited, solid in their conviction and having a real purpose in life, just like in the days between 1968 and 1975!
It's coming. It's coming as surely as Roman-style fights to the death are coming (to the USA) in the near future.

The wt could go mainstream christian. But if they don't, going by indications of their early history, and history of christianity, and the perverse ingenuity of the human mind, especially the believer mind, they will easily come up w some new structure to explain everything, and keep things going. After all, christians have been doing this kind of thing regarding jesus' second coming for 2000 yrs. Adventists have been doing the wt brand of theological acrobatics since 1845. I hate to say it, but history indicates a long life for the wt publishing society. I could be wrong, of course.

That will not be for some time! The number of anointed has held steady for quite some time, and there was a rather dramatic increase of 69 new partakers in 2001!

I believe you are not taking into consideration those in mid-management positions at Bethel who know full well the problems and are waiting to close in on the leaders and make changes, honest changes.
