The writers have really shot themselves in the foot with this one, and with so many people watching them they can not back track and claim "we never said that". This one ranks up there with Jovah in the Pleiades. It only demonstrates what happens when you let people with uneducated ignorance of science and scripture write and claim to be experts in both.
First thing, even an average star, such as the sun, is huge when compared to the Earth. A being who can harness the power to create a star could create a million earths. The writer of this tripe just elevated Satan up higher than a myriad of angels or any other created beings and put him up there in Jesus territory. Can an organization which exalts Satan so highly rightfully claim to be God's organization?
Another thing, mentioned by Robert7, is that stars are some distance away. The nearer ones are far enough that light takes several years to get to Earth, and beyond those it takes decades. Most visible stars are decades or centuries of light years away. What this means is that if Satan created a star and made it go nova so that it would stand out as unusual, he had to have known decades, centuries, or even millenia ahead of time when Jesus would be born and what the implications of his birth. He would also have predictive knowledge of what humans would be doing abour Jesus' birth and how creating a star to be seen by them would further his own plans. The Watchtower elevates Satan even further in power with this claim.
So I ask again, can an organization which exalts Satan so highly rightfully claim to be God's organization?
