I just spoke with my JW dad. He said that the last days did not start in 1914. He said that the last days don't have a date for starting that it is a general time frame that we are living in now. We know that because all of the signs of the last days are seen by everyone.
Did the JW's change something with 1914 being the start of the last days, or is my dad crazy?

1914 is the most date in mankinds history.....according to the JW's. I can't imagine them ever changing that part of the teaching.

Sorry, your dad is crazy.
Or if he has been reading Studies in the Scriptures, he might not be crazy, just a little confused. "The Time of the End" commenced in 1799.
"Present Truth" is that the last days began in 1914, and we are now living in the last days of the last days. That's the thing about the "last days". They last, and last, and last, and last...
Whenever a JW tells you something that is dubious, challenge them to prove it. This is especially good when they are trying to cover something up, or trying to deal with their own cognitive dissonance.
It pushes them to read something they do not want to believe, or shows them to be lying, right from their own publications and then to have to explain it to you.
They will often ignor that subject from then on. I use that. Every time they bring up a different subject, ignor it and tackle them on the old one.
