Just in tune with Priscas post,In all honesty I think the actual baptism as a JW has little relevance to anyone but the Societys lawyers who use it against you if you protest at cruel treatment ,as baptism is seen as accepting club dictates.
It is the mental indoctrination process that traps you in there mind set and this usually occurs well before baptism, the questions you go through before you get baptized which are supposed to prepare you and teach you are about more about what they forget to tell you about the religion than anything, even so, some people never get baptized but are trapped by this mindset and need deprograming,I know a JW study so screwed up by guilt that he would not be able to reach the requirements of the 'Truth' he hung himself before he got baptized.
I did not get baptized until I was 19,but the constant fear of destuction at Armageddon, the affect on my goals and education, all sorts of things the religion profoudedly affected me from a very tender age.
