Yep, that's a good shot of an old timey fillin' station. :) I have no idea what town this was in, but, when I was little we were out doing one of the "remember when" tours with relatives there was an old octagonal gas station that we saw and my parents remembered from back BEFORE the day! I thought it was cool and always liked seeing the old buildings.
That Central High, I'm not sure if it was that or of a school in Jacksonville that my dad drew while he was in still in school. The one in your photo sure looks like I remember his drawing though. I'll have to see if any family member has any of his drawings/paintings anymore. One of the jw side-defects on my family was that those mementos and keepsakes had no value since the end was always so close so who knows what became of things like that.

TMS, Levy is in fact where my aunt lives. I remember going to that WalMart but it's been about 5 years since I was in AR. And also Burns Park is the location of that particular bridge...or at least was. Things change. Last time I was there a professional photographer was shooting some kids in front of the bridge and had the best angles so I got nothing!
I think another reason that I have mixed emotions about that area is that it seems like the only time any of us made the trip was for a funeral. But I haven't gone even for the last two of those sadly.
You guys have me reminiscing tonight. Not necessarily a bad thing though. -

I drove past Alltel Arena a little while ago and there were alot of people going in for an event. I didn't see what it was though. You mentioned that you want to move to NLR around the Old Mill; I want to try to get an apartment in that area. It's so nice around there.

here is a pic of Central High, I imagine this is the school your brother drew, It has been named them most beautiful highschool in America. Jacksonville.........(I live in walking distance to JHS) is not so pretty.
The octogonal gas station you mention, I have taken pics of, which are on my external harddrive, I will post some of those when I get my cord.
Also, I lived in Levy after I got married, long time ago. very close to Burns Park. And then again at the end of Allen St, where we built a house. We lived there a year and made $10,000 off that house. I was so proud!!!!
I think Levy is holding its own. I was through there about two months ago. It is losing that little community type feeling it once had. Those little family places to eat along McArthur drive seem to be surviving. And JoJo's BBQ is still hanging on!!!
I also have some pics of Little Rock, view from Scenic Hill, I will try to find and post.
I think the Argenta area is being fixed up, historical area or something. Maybe I am getting it mixed up with Quapaw Quarters. Wow, I need to get around and check things out better!!!

Purps, you make me want to pick up a camera now and go take a little tour of our area and take dozens of pictures!
I know I often complain about the area we live in, but I often forget how beautiful it is around here and not too far away.
