Is love more fragile than hate?

I posted this on FB and got 45 comments and a good fight in it. The comments on FB were equally split between my coven mates and posters from here. Thought I'd try it out here and see what happens with comments from all XJW's.

"White Dove is pondering life: It takes two to make love, but it takes only one to make hate. It takes two to make a relationship work, but it takes only one to destroy it. Does this mean, then, that love is the more fragile of the two?"

Love is more fragile, in my book based on the selfishness (in order to deprive another of happiness) of another. Hate is more strong because it takes 8 positive remarks to cancel out one nagative one.

I think hate is much stronger, it seems to feed itself. I don't know why, you would think love would be stronger. Hate takes so much energy. But all the energy you put out seems to feed the fire somehow. Haters seem to always have some in reserve to sound off with on almost every topic.

    Sad story.

I have to agree- it takes time and effort to get to the point where you love others and they love you.

One stupid or mean action or comment can cause a lot of hate for a long time.

I would say that the energy is in different directions and lacking a creative source, the only energy left is that of destruction. The former is love, the latter hate. Fragility I see as the running out of steam, the fountain that bubbles up only to collapse back on itself under its own weight.

I've seen love turn to hate. I've never seen the reverse.

Interesting. Guess, paul was wrong about love, too.

I guess the saying that if you want something good that you must be willing to work hard for it, to suffer for it is true.

Yeah, Paul/Walt Disney was wrong. Love cannot survive hateful selfishness. Love knows when to quit. Love does NOT endure all things, otherwise there would be no divorces or murders.

Love & Hate I don't even have a clear idea of what these are anymore, are they emotions, are they actions and are they mutually exclusive and total opposites of one another or is there love in hate and hate in love, I guess it all depends on what shades one gives to the meaning in ones own mind.

As to which one is more fragile or are they both on an equal footing I would say it all depends on what ones notions are about these two qualities and the condition of ones psyche and how strongly one loves or hates would determine the answer that someone would come up with or if you're someone like me,, the jury would still be out.
