If there is a God that is to be worshipped and there is no one around to worship .......

Einstein proved that time is only a dimension of our physical universe, and that time did not begin until our physical universe began. So, God could not have spent endless trillions of years doing anything, before He created our physical universe. Because prior to the creation of our physical universe time did not exist.

The Bible tells us that God was not alone when He created our universe, along with its dimension of time. (John 1:1,2) That means that God has never been alone. If you disagree, tell me when God was alone. But before you do so, remember that the word "when" refers to "a point in time," and that "time" did not begin until our physical universe began.

sixofnine: You don't need to care if you aren't convinced the bible is true. I can see many here are not ,but I believe they are sincere in their feelings.
I feel a deep study of the word you'll find the harmony in the scriptures that led up to christ with over 300 prophecys fullfilled.
It takes a DEEP study to get past the doubts if your a person who has them strongly.
If a person dosen't believe the word then there are countless interpretations that we could arrive at without ever knowing.
To much design coupled with love and beauty to not believe a creator would abandon us.
I too do not have answers for the way God took lives of so many throughout history.

Don't know if you are a Star Trek fan, but I think IF there is a GOd, then God would be a lot like the character Q. A being from a race that would seem to be omnipotent and all-mighty to humans.

The universe is a big place to us. But, maybe OUR universe is a marble under some kid's bed. Maybe the WT was on to something when they used to teach Jehovah God was an astronaut from a galaxy far,far away...

Good you used the word "feel". Maybe if I can just put my mind on hold, and start using my feelings, I'll be able to see the harmony in the Bible? So I just didn't do a "deep" enough study of the Bible? Seems like the deeper I got into it, the more it fell apart from a logical standpoint. Did I just need to go that much deeper? Will it all come together if I just dig deeper? How deep is deep? Give me an example of something deep that convinces you the bible is from a supernatural source.

btw, if I find harmony, will I have necessarilly found truth?

I guess we both missed the harmony in that. Oh well, it's only human lives, love and the concept of justice, why worry?

Btw, if the Bible is truly the word of God, then I need to care, don't I? Everyone needs to care, don't they, whether they believe it or not, they need to find a way to believe it, am I right?

Sixofnine: Some who do a deep study go your way.....some go the other.
What causes the two sides? Why do some believe and others do not.
Learned men with much research on both sides and still the debate goes on with the bible/God.
I only hope and wish God will read hearts of people and keep safe those who are good people.
I have lots of questions six. But as of yet I believe in a loving creator.
Try not to get so PISSED at posts from believers.
I get PISSED at strong posts like yours....that's why I try to word things to not offend others.
It is nice to have variety here and you add to that variety.

Do I come across as pissed Gumby? lol, no need to answer that.

A year or so ago, I wasn't "pissed" about this topic, I was in anguish.

Not once did anyone come forward with a (logical) reason to believe that the bible is of a supernatural source. NOT ONE person- not one reason!

Meanwhile, one more generation of kids is having their minds filled with the spiritual pornography that is the Bible.

Yeah, I guess it pisses me off. If there is a God, I'd bet it pisses them off too.

Six: You have every right to be pissed!
Believe me....I go thru spirts when I don't know what the crap to believe. Creation and design always bring me back to God.
The bible.....lot's of questions for me.
When I find what I feel is a GOOD explanation other than creation...I will share it here.
I'm off to work for the day and will be back this evening.

I only took issue with the bible in this thread. God, creation; another topic altogether. Ok, actually the original topic of this thread. I guess that is one reason I bristled so much at the bible being called in as an authority on this subject.
