Im very shaken right now...I dont want to meet with them, and I dont want to have any contact with them at all. Lying IS an option.

What would you suggest me to do?

Don't answer the email and label it as spam to block his further emails. Make it difficult to meet you and he will eventually give up.

I like LWT's reply. Well thought out and worded.

The only negative is that as persistent as this elder has been, I'd be afraid that won't stop him. Just getting a reply may encourage him to 'get to the bottom' of the problem. Ignoring him sends a stronger signal of not wanting to talk (at least it would to me). You just have to be prepared for the inevitable unannounced call at the door one Saturday morning. Then you have to muster up the moxie to tell him to his face you don't want to talk.

Seriously, thanks for all the kind words, there was some very good suggestions - especially thanks to nugget and LWT, its the route we will take if the problem persists. The solutions might seem obvious to you, but its a really great comfort to hear from you and know we are answering them the best we can.

Isn’t it awful what a cult can do to our sense of well being. Please do this and give yourself some peace of mind this holiday season, spend fifty bucks and go to almost any attorney and simply ask them to type out a letter from their office requesting the elders or any other representative of the Watchtower Society to hence forth cease any and all contact with you. The attorneys office send will send the letter by return receipt, if they come to your door before they receive this cease and desist letter” from your attorney, simply give them one of his business cards and close the door. I guarantee you will have no further problems. Merry Christmas!
