Drawing a Blank/Tough time finding the right word

    Hey, I want to google a topic...the only problem is that I know what its about but I can't figure out what keyword to google. It has to do with those subconscious words that the Watchtower throws into all their literature that influences the way jws read & agree with its contents....

    Examples:

    Of course

    No doubt

    Without hesitation

    Only intelligent people would believe this.... (which makes them say...."hmmmm, I'm intelligent so Of COURSE I believe this!)

    So transparent to see

    Etc. Do you know what I am referring to? I'd like to find studies on how OTHER religions/groups/organizations do this as a form of mind control and then show it to my JWs. So what should I type in the Google box? Thanks.

    These words are just common debating phrases. When you start a sentence with things like "I'm sure you agree that ......." it is to marginalize the viewpoint of the listener.

    The listener (or reader) then has not only to try to prove his own point, but then has to explain why he doesn't agree with the other person. Especially when time is limited, it puts the person into a defensive position.

    Ziddina, you have a pm. Thanks all for the suggestions...I'm sure more than one of those will get me what I'm looking for . When I am in a calm mood, I plan on showing information about the other people who do this, and then in a few months I will show them that they do the same thing. It's aggravating isnt it
