Really? I thought they were pretty desperate and would take anyone - looks that way sometimes to me anyway.

The furthest I got was reading the WT and handing out the magazines. They even gave me a booklet about how to handle the literature that had a solemn instruction that it must be discarded annually because the instructions were updated and old instructions lying around might lead to confusion.

When you are a parent, they use your children against you to hold you back from having privileges.

I loved my children more than having privileges.

God, Im in the opposite situation.

I havent gone out in service for 3 months, I havent been to a Thursday night in months, and yet when I show up the occasional Sunday, they STILL ask me to do something. LOL!!

I posted a while ago that it reminds me of a Seinfeld episode - the one where George does everything humanly possible to get fired from the NY Yankees, and manages to keep his job!

The funny thing is, there are two guys there who are really good men, but they get like 6 hours of service a month and a couple of their teenage kids arent baptised, and they will not use them for anything. They have had sisters do the magazine desk, and still will not use these "good" brothers.

That is HILLARIOUS about the lawn - when i was growning up, we had the occasional non-witness spouse come and help with the lawn. What would they do, tell him to get lost? hahahah

Also, that is great about the Bethel Applications ATJ - its funny they print up millions of memorial invites and district convention invites that no one responds to, and yet they are worried about wasting Bethel applications.......only the WTBS.....

As a teenager, for some time, I was getting theocratic ministry school assignments less often. It later turned out that the elder responsible for that had thought that my hair was a bit too long (even if it was short, I can tell) but he was not able to say it directly because of the pecking order of the local elders (my father was one of them), so I was supposed to eventually understand...

It's soooo stupid to make people think they're privileged to mow the lawn, pass the mics or cleaner the sh*tter!

I always found th cleaning duties never needed any "spiritual qualifications" you can be an apostate, transvestite, pedophile who worships Satan and still be given the privilege of cleaning the toilets at a convention.

Sisters mowed the lawn at my last KH....no "qualified" brothers except the elders who were not going to humble themselves to do it...more important things to do.

No matter what they tell you it is ALL about the number you put on the time slip. Put down anything from 9 to 15 a month and keep the average at around 12 and you'll be given more work to do than any normally adjusted human would want.
