Does anyone here know if the claims in this URL are true? Did Rutherford in fact have Beth Sharim constructed for the benefit of the resurrected prophets?

Ana: Farkel is a wealth of information on this subject. I'd suggest you e-mail him privately, as he seems to have taken leave of this place. (Reading Danny Bear's caustic remarks, I can understand why.)

He has done much research on Beth Sharim and lives nearby.

    Best regards,

    Ana,

Why of course it is true. The cite your gave had actual quotes from WT literature. On the net, I have seen actual copies of the deed with the names of the faithfull men of old on it. You might do a search on the term Beth Shan. In 1938, they built a second mansion on the adjoining property. This mansion had two bomb shelters in it, so that the WT elite could live comfortably through the great tribulation.

My mother's aunt Berta Peale spent her winters with Rutherford's elite at Beth Sarim from 1938 onward. She lived in the mansion after Rutherford's death until it was sold.

You can read a complete history of these two mansions in a book by Edmond Gruss that can be found on the FreeMinds website.

    Ladonna,

Yes, it certainly is true. You can find the deed where the property was deeded to the patriarchs, and very much material on the matter. There is a book by Ed Gruss detailing Beth Sarem, Beth Shan and other things. I think it is called "Monuments to Watchtower False Prophecies" or something like that.

Yep, it's true. I have the original literature with the quotes as well as a copy of the deed.

    Ginny,

Thank you for resurecting that. I actually forgot that it was a pretty good piece! I'm crying now. I actually did the hard work and WROTE that. I DO make a difference. Danny Boy says I don't, but he never did that kind of hard work. I wrote the piece on "Beth Sarim" and I claim that as my own. Danny Boy can never claim that as his own. Danny Boy can only say bad stuff about me.

I'm ok. Whatever Danny Boy says about me, I'm ok. I'm still ok.

    ok guys.. i'm lost.

I'm sorry if I seem a bit naive, but who the heck is Beth Sharim? I've been raised in the Org and never heard of it. Am I the only one? Can anyone explain?

    Thanks! :)
