Restrangled - if your family likes mexican food, they have wonderful traditions with tamales, chicken mole and other tasty reasonably priced dishes. You can buy tamales at Costco that are very good. Have a wonderful time with your family!

These are really good too. I'm making them on New Years day.

Lasagne is very traditional for Christmas dinner in Italian families.
Our favorite Christmas dinner is actually a pork roast with potatoes and lots of vegetables.
For a more traditional dinner, you could try goose - very popular among friends who have a UK background.
Some people like a crown roast or lamb too. Try googling Christmas dinner around the world and see what pops up.
Thanks all, and Scully too. I don't think these guys would tolerate any gamey birds such as duck or goose.
I serve a nice pork roast at least once a month with all the xtra's including homemade applesauce, so it would be nothing new.
I guess, I'm going to stick to the Lasagna, with garlic bread, a big beautiful salad, and lots of deserts. The nice thing about Lasagna, is you can make it a day ahead of time, bake it, and its better the next day...great cold too!

My whole family loves pork tenderloin. I finally found a method to not dry it out. Preheat the oven to 500. Bake tenderloin that is sprinkled with dry good seasons dressing mix for 5 min for every lb. Then turn the oven off and do not open the door for one hour, no peeking! Comes out seasoned and juicy. I think that would be great with lasagna. Spiral slice ham is always a hit with au gratin potatoes.
lasagna would have been my suggestion
as it is a HUGE favorite here.... secret
ingredient is ground lamb in addition to
the beef...
also, when we make garlic bread we add
oregano, parsley, fennel and rosemary to
the butter before we brush it on the bread
Pizza, do they deliver on Christmas? Because, that is what I am planning. The backup plan is New York steak, should be perfect weather for a BBQ. Barbara is having surgery on Tuesday. Don't ask, I already got in trouble once for telling.

Chickpea, one of my secrets to garlic bread comes from a very famous restaurant here. Slather it with Maries blue cheese dressing after the garlic butter.
I had a waiter give me the secret many years ago. They were famous for their garlic bread....I've never done it any different since!

Pork is the way I'd go...unless I made it a "Traditional JW Xmas" and then it would be hot dogs and cole slaw.
