It's no wonder we did not, could not stay "in the Truth". We're too diversified, too intelligent, to continue believing the BS! I'm glad to have the interchange that we have here.

Yeah, we're an unruly bunch. Sometimes, we can knock each other about pretty hard, but it comes from all of us having a "ain't nobody gonna tell me what to do" attitude.

Leaving the JW's, is by far, the greatist achievment of my life, I doubt that I will ever top that one, it's pretty impressive.

I am always amazed at the ability of the human mind to either shut down when demanded or open up when left unimpeded. For years I worked with sexual abuse abuse survivors. For years they lived with the control over their lives and minds used by their abusers. I saw the metal bonds over their minds, the fears planted by their abusers slowly fade and then wow it was amazing what they could do. I saw the same thing with women abused by their husbands. They came in fearful and with no confidence in their ability to succeed in life.
It is no different here. While quite a few of us have experienced the sexual and physical abuse like the women I worked with we all have experienced the mental control of the WTS. That included control over our thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
It is awesome to watch many here open up and learn to let go of those controls. The first step is to overcome the fear of reading here, to register and then finally to make that first post.
My hat is off to all who endeavor to take this path. It isn't an easy one especially when the WTS has implanted the idea that leaving them equals aligning ourselves with Satan. That takes courage.

I used to think this place was psycho. Then I realized the same quality in myself.
It is great to read most points of view. I appreciate getting to know others and to realize how many different ways there are to view various topics and situations that come up in life.
