Also, I would like to point out that a CRYSTAL CLEAR indicator that there is nothing genuine in any of their actions would be the flip side, in that when they disfellowship someone they propagate the very circumstance they're encouraging the herd to help their bible studies with. They disown, shun and render family and friends dead to them and rejoice in how holy they are, that they "true christians"......"Hello, kettle? This is the WTBS, you're black!"

    F**K that makes me bitter.

They do this on purpose. They want new studies to cut all ties with the world. Then, when they are baptized, if they break a rule or decide that this is not for them, they will cut off ties with the new witless. This leaves the person in the cold, having cut ties with the world and then the witlesses cut ties off with them for breaking a rule or deciding they do not want to continue (or wish to take time out).

On top of that, the "personal interest" will be along the lines of how much you are doing. At first, it will be about cutting ties with other religion, putting away your smokes, breaking up with your significant other, and not "worshiping the sun". Sometimes they will even make sure you do not celebrate anything by tying you up for the day.

After a while, it will be about going to all the boasting sessions. Then wasting 6 hours to prepare a 5 minute talk. Then, getting ready to waste all your time in field circus, going door to door. Then, getting rid of any entertainment (you know, that "bad" music or those questionable movies and video games). And, finally finalizing your decision. Then, it will be all about increasing your waste of time, and making sure you remain compliant at all costs.

This religion is nothing more than a scam. Anyone studying now is going to think you are learning a lot now, and that your horizons appear to be broadening. But, after about a year, it will become very boring, and all the same. You will not be broadening anything--rather, your horizons will be much narrower.

Ironic, isn't it? You can cut the hypocrisy with a knife.

    Great post!

I might add that witnesses coach new ones to expect to be ostraziced from their "wordly" loves ones and then point to the fact that they are being persecuted for "righteousness sake". This reinforces in the mind of the student that they have found "the truth" and nothing they are leaving behind is worthwhile.

What they don't prepare them for is the ostracisim they will experience if they for some reason don't follow all the WT's rules.

I cut my dubs off at the knees on this one. Instead of telling them I was getting the expected opposition to my studying, I said that people were excited about me learning more about the Bible and eagerly wanted me to tell them what I had learned. That threw them a bit. I always try to go off their script any way I can think of. Truth is, no one I know cares or has any interest in what they are teaching me. Most think they are whacky and dumb.

However, these guys sing like birds about their lives. One of them has told me enough dirt, the kingdom hall sounds like a soap opera.

Hmmmm, made it to post 2000......and no Armageddon? Cool!

They should "help fill the emotional void by demonstrating a warm personal interest".

    "Warm personal interest"..

    ?????

    "Yes Master!"..

    Well written, Walktall...

Many of the Witnesses are good people, but they are trained to be detached. Their emotional allegiance is reserved for the organization.

That is so true.. I knew a single "sister" who was brought along by the star pioneer couple of the congregation. They really knew how to befriend lonely ones and make them feel wanted. This girl had remained in it, ok, but confided how hard it had been to cope with the realisation that her friends were not lifelong friends , because they simply moved on to the next project once she had been baptized

Also if they were true christians would they even need to be told to show personal interest and caring? Shouldn't that come naturally????

Omg that's something I've never really read into properly. I wonder how many sentences like that we can find that when you actually read into them and listen to the words that are used and compare them to other words that could have been used, I bet you find loads of loop holes.

I'm totally gonna make that my mission. After Christmas of course :)
