Pledge forms will be issued to all Brothers & Sisters requesting for donations for K.H.,Assembly halls, reno of K.H.etc.They did give some poor excuse as why this was necessary. My guess is that the Brothers who made interest free loans to the WBTS are asking for these loans back because of all the layoffs and the down turn in the economy.

And of the pledges made I wonder how many will be kept?

So are these going to be anonymous or are they expecting people to put their names on these forms...........

*** km 2/92 p. 4 par. 12 Joyfully Meeting the Needs of the Harvest ***Before requesting a loan from the Society, the elders should take a survey locally to determine (1) how much will be contributed at the outset to assist with property purchase and construction costs, (2) how much can be lent locally by those associated with the involved congregation(s), and (3) how much will be contributed monthly to cover congregation operating expenses and to repay any loan that is obtained from the Society. No names should be shown on the slips that are turned in when this survey is taken. It is important that all provide accurate figures, taking a realistic look at their own contribution and loan prospects, as the elders will use these figures in making weighty decisions on behalf of the congregation.

Blondie,no names on the forms. In the past they used this methods to raise money for local K.H.which was very successful. Now they want to go country wide.

I had a cong secretary once tell me that whatever the number they get from the survey, the actual donations afterward are half or less than what was pledged. I found that very funny.

Sounds like the cash flow is dwindling. So they have to ask for money and no longer rely on God's blessing? per Russell

*** jv chap. 21 p. 342 How Is It All Financed? ***Charles Taze Russell refused to imitate the churches. He wrote: "It is our judgment that money raised by the various begging devices in the name of our Lord is offensive, unacceptable to him, and does not bring his blessing either upon the givers or the work accomplished."

*** jv chap. 21 p. 350 How Is It All Financed? ***. In 1915, as president of the Society, Charles Taze Russell said: "Our Society has not sought to lay up earthly riches, but has been, rather, a spending institution. Whatever God’s providence sent in to us without solicitation we have sought to spend as wisely as possible in harmony with the Word and Spirit of the Lord. Long ago we announced that when the funds would cease, the activities of the Society would cease proportionately; and that as the funds increased, the Society’s activities would be enlarged." The Society has continued to do exactly that.

Interesting isn't it when the Brooklyn boys can spend millions on new properties and elsewhere

    they are crying for money.

They need another forwarding campaign like " Expect the end of the system of things next year " .....or something to that effect.

    To fire up the coffers.

One thing that is real is certain JWS who feel guilt ridden for not doing enough for the organization

will actually try and compensate themselves by offering money to the organization.

This ties into why some have given a majority of their wills and estate to the WTS.

My own father has done this leaving all of his children including myself with nothing in his will.
