'Did You Exit the Witnesses Due to Injustices / Difference with Doctrine-Both?'

I guess in my case it was when I went to their so called Judicial Committee meeting” for personal reasons and seen that they are just as messed up as I am, and yet they are going to direct someone else; like their asking very personal questions pertaining to sexual relations and how it was accomplished, I could actually see some of them were getting off on asking the questions that never got answered, I told them you bunch of sick perverts. But what topped off the list was how they insisted that I not go to the legal authorities concerning my daughter being molested by a sick MF’er in the holy Kingdom Hall. *%ing @^^holes!

    monkeyman,

:Farkel, isn't "arrogant asshole Circuit Overseer" a redundant phrase?

Yes, and not only that it is needlessly repetitious!

I think this thread makes something abundantly clear. Dubs often say people left their religion because "it was just too muck work" for them and they were too lazy to work for Jehovah. Other dubs say people left their religion so they could party on for the rest of their lives. Dubs NEVER say, "they left our religion because we are false prophets", or "they left our religion because our elders/leaders are corrupt criminals." Of course not.

Nope. There are just two reasons here:

    1) Doctrine. Dubs left because the evidence was overwhelming the doctrines are false, non-Biblical, anti-Biblical, extra-Biblical and in many cases intentional lies.

    2) Injustices. "By their fruits you shall know them." The WTS has a tree full of stinking, rotten fruit: their members are so bad and even evil, they drive people away from their religion in droves. This is not an anomaly in just a few isolated areas, or even in just a Country of two. No. It is a worldwide cancer of evil, full of rotten people doing harm to others.

For me it was both. While still in bethel, I hit a tipping point. After leaving bethel, I saw even more of the same and quit believing.

One thing thats notable about this particular religion, here is a religion that has been pushed and marketed

to the public now in most modernized countries for almost a 100 years now, much more so than most

and yet they have only in that time frame they have only collected 7 million adherents.

Added to the fact that they lose a large portion of their followers, that has to say something.

Had so many responses to this thread I'll answer page 1 responses first as I have to run to the store pretty soon. Thanks for the great comments !

FARKEL- So Erskine was a C.O. and a hatchet man groomed by Jaracz , eh ? He should be a real piece of work then. Sorry you got the shaft from the guys arrogance. Unfortunately there are still lots of WT guys out there like him.

DOOFDADDY- Yes, the generation backflip affected me as well. I definitely didn't buy into all the changes. And also being made aware of the child abuse problem just made me pissed.

LOOKING4PEACE- So the flip-flopping of doctrines and mistreatment of young people by elders and unjust JC's got to you ? I totally understand , I also hated the way young people were mistreated too.

NUGGET- I too held my differences with the organization on the inside for years because like you said we weren't allowed to hold different views from the WT society. And I think fear kept me from coming out with my doubts. I am so glad that your husband helped you see the " real " truth about the truth with research and that you opened your mind enough to read " Crisis of Conscience " . And what a great thing for your children it will be to be raised without mind control. That is a great blessing for sure !

FINALLYSOMEPRIDE- I agree. It was really boring at meetings. I was DFed from 1998 to 2002 , then went back briefly from 2002 to the end of 2003, then the injustices sank in and I couldn't take it anymore. Had to quit attending.

JEFFT- I'm glad you wanted something better for your children and I hope they were able to get a college education. Yes, I disagree strongly with the WT society on their views of higher education as well. It's why I paid for my inactive son to attend college.

FOUR CANDLES- I'm so sorry your son was treated so shabbily my friend. I saw so many injustices as well when I was in. I'm glad he turned out well in spite of the wacko elders ! It certainly speaks highly of your parental guidance that he turned out good ! Peace out to you too dude. Take care.

WOBBLE- I agree. I saw that the 1914 thing was a pile of stinking poo as well. I'm glad you weren't mistreated by elders- you were lucky. I really believe the internet is going to help people learn and get free of this evil mind control cult even more as years go by.

AUSSIE OZ- Well bro, the WT society's standards were too strict anyway. Don't beat yourself up over " fleshly " thoughts. Hey, we all need a normal sex life . It's a natural need that was instilled in us by either a ceator or evolution. I'm glad you discovered the internet too and learned about the false teachings and misleading ways of the WT society in time. Good for you

I was running for my life, so, yes, it was injustice that got me out.

O.K. Finally able to reply to page 2 ! Great replies ! You guys are wearing me out ! In a good way though ! Enjoying the comments.

SAPPHY- I agree. So many of the prophecies and how the witnesses try to manuever dates into fitting prophecies into their square box reasoning is just crazy, pure, plain, and simple.

FOKYC- I discovered that the elders lied all the time trying to prove a point ! And they'll NEVER admit they are wrong. Your story would be a good one since you experienced injustices. I look forward to it.

UNDER THE RADAR- Good points you make. I agree, the WT society only points to itself as the answer to the universe. They discourage ANY critical thinking or ANY research outside of the WT society channels. Very arrogant of them.

WT WIZARD- They promised you they would help you meet the opposite sex ? I'm sure you could of done a better job of finding a woman on your own .

ALL TIME JEFF- I've read your experiences and I'm amazed with everything you went through- that you came out of it with your head on straight ! The attack in Cameroon, the divorce on top of that, you've been through the mill. But you are right the WT society IS afraid of it's own lies ! The 1914 scam and all the other false prophecies. You've done a good job guy moving on - keep up the good work.

UNDERTHERADAR_ Welcome ! Look forward to your story.

SALLY SUE- Difference with doctrine. I hear you and agree.

CANTLEAVE- So " behavioral issues with the body of elders " started opening your eyes , eh ? And I'm sure you saw a lot more than the rank and file publisher as you were an elder yourself. I'm glad you are out with your skin and freedom intact my friend.

HEAVEN- I'm glad you stayed true to who you are as a person and didn't join the witnesses. You're better off believe me ! So the headship thing was an issue with you ? I hear you. And I also never liked how the elders went above and beyond the Bible. Very arrogant of them.

LIFE IS TOO SHORT- Thanks. Glad you like the thread. It's nice to see we are not alone and we have all been through various trials in our own way to exit the JW cult. I hope your husband takes his blinders off someday in time. Hang in there sis.

OOMPA- The WT society certainly has altered the Bible. Totally. The WT society has altered a lot of things. Including lives. Way too much.

PAUL FROM CLEVELAND- Well Paul, I know how you feel. Lots of us felt we couldn't live up to the WT society's standards. But the standards they set are impossible to live up to- nobody can live up to them. They set standards that are even HIGHER than God's ! And the standards they set, aren't needed. That's the point. I hope you are able to overcome your guilt and fear in time. Just keep educating yourself here and on the internet. Hang in there.

BLONDIE- Good point you bring out that the only way to protect ourselves from the injustices and lack of love in the organization is to leave ! Sorry you suffered so much for so long. Glad you got out.

MOUTHY- It still amazes me that the elders kicked you out over not believing in 1914. Pretty weird stuff.

OTWO- Thanks for posting your story for those who had not read it. You really experienced a lot when you think about it. And having been an elder helped you to see from the inside how people's personal needs are overlooked to promote the WT organization.

    ONE OF MANY- Welcome !

LEPRECHAUN- It is disgusting how sick and twisted the elders are when they ask details of sexual experiences to people. And telling you to NOT report your child being molested to the police authorities ? I think I would have punched the Godamned elder in the face ! I'm so sorry that happened to you and your child.

FARKEL- Very good points you make. Dubs ARE always saying people leave because they want to go be bad, or sin, or party . Witnesses are trained to think we all become evil, demonic , sacrificial goat burning whoremongers once we stop attending meetings ! Really ridiculous. But it usually just comes down to being treated unjustly or difference with doctrines.

BILLY the EX BETHELITE- I bet you saw your fill of the " disgusting thing that causes desolation " in Bethel !

THE TRUE ONE- They have been marketing the religion for OVER a hundred years now ! More like 136 years now since 1874 ! Crazy isn't it that people still buy into this $hit ?

JAMIEBOWERS- I'm glad you escaped with your skin intact sis. I know you suffered for your freedom

Hi Flipper and Happy New Year-- Like you it was a little of both although in my case the scales were tipped in favor of me being treated badly as a single woman. The attitudes were intolerable. I also disagreed with and despised the religion's stand against college and careers. As far as doctrine was concerned, I didn't believe divine claims and found it hard to swallow when they said certain prophecy applied to them. I kept these and other doubts to myself. It was all OVER however when I found out about their scandals from the internet. I could no longer in good conscience continue and I began my "fade" in 2001. And that is how the story goes.
