Just watched this documentary on our local tv. Among all the issues touched on, one really stood out to me.

The elderly JW man, who survived the concentration camps as a Jew, who became a JW after observing them in the camp was reuniting his two sides of family. The JW and his jewish daughters family. He took them to the camps on a tour. At one point he hugged all the family and said that had he not survived, none of them would exist. Here for me, is the irony and i wonder if it was lost on him:

Unless his jewish daughter and family convert to JW, then God will complete what Hitler did not, cause them to not exist. kill them in short.

This is infact, my major problem with 'God'. i just cannot comprehend a god who would do this.

You need to study more, pray more, and go out in service to comprehend such a gawd

    Hi Aussie,

That is my major problem too. I can't fathom a God that is going to kill almost the entire world of mankind. How does that make him any different than Hitler? Hitler's solution was to purge the earth of the 'undesirable' ones. The God of the Jehovah's Witnesses solution seems to be the same. Isn't there some better way to solve the worlds problems? Killing everyone is a solution that a man thought up (Hitler). Hopefully God's plan will transcend that. Otherwise, Hitler should be praised for patterning himself after God.

-had he not survived, none of them would exist.

The real irony is that the JW's in the concentration camp were freed by General Eisenhower who was raised as a member of Pastor Russell's Bible Students group- later known as Jehovah's Witnesses. Everyone in the family except his mother quit Russell's religion in 1915 after the failure of his 1914 predictions. JW's should be nicer to ex-JW's as they never know when God will use one of them to save their butts.

Notice the Witness kid got a organ transplant which was banned by the Watchtower until 1980 since it was I qoute "Cannablism."

My father tried to polish the WT's filthy cup with this doco.

I pointed out that if the same thing had happened to me when I was the same age he would have insisted I died.

I can't believe I missed it! I was just talking to DH about it on Saturday, that I wondered if it would ever air in Aus, and then it id and I didn't know! I heard its all pro JW and leaves out many facts so would probably make me mad anyway, but would like to know in case my family ever tries to suggest it as some sort of argument to their side. However, I guess no JWs would have seen it since it was on Sunday morning anyway!

The man who did this has close jw connections through his jw mother. He though is gay and not a jw.
