I beg to differ LWT..I like all the new stuff..
I gotcha.
Well, art can only be APPRECIATED, not MEASURED.
I like Supergrass, Radiohead, The Raconteurs and a few newer ones. Not too much of it.

A lot of the old stuff is pretty good. I am only starting to discover it, since I am a city boy from a latin neighborhood. Never listened to the stuff growing up. Is Johnny Cash country? Because he is awesome.

I like some of all kinds of music. Country music covers a wide range of music and lyrical subjects, so you have to pick and choose. I don't like the crying-in-your-beer stuff either. This is the kind of country I like. Someone told me if you hate country, this is one song you won't.
I need my daily dose of LZ!!
I generally hate country music too....but if it's got an indie/alt sound to it, that's a whole nother story! (I'm thinking of stuff like Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins).

Many years ago my piano mentor wanted me to learn to play some Bela Bartok music. I told her I HATED Bartok. She said, "you don't hate it. You just don't understand it." I learned to played it and learned to love it. From that day forward I resolved never to hate any kind of music I didn't understand.
That epiphany aside, I do understand Country music. But I still HATE IT!
