Is it true that there is a now policy that if you are inactive and not attending meetings that after three years you will be D/f'd? I have a friend who is very concerned that this is now policy. Can any shed some light?

You can be DFed for any reason.
If the elders do not like your car, you can be DFed
If the elders do not like what movies you watch, you can be DFed
If the elders do not like where you live, you can be DFed
If the elders do not like your family, you can be DFed

I would be shocked if that was true.

I don't think the 3-year thing is a policy as much as it is simply a fact of life. Sooner or later a fader is going to do something they can use to DF him/her, and sooner or later the brothers are going to find out about it and attempt to tie up the loose ends.
Unless you move and nobody in JW-land knows you where you have gone.

Many times the GB has said about revisiting people who have been inactive for 30 years, so that shouldn't be true, BUT
I know in the UK since the inception of the Data Protection Act the elders are frightened to keep information on anyone who has become inactive, even if their spouse is still attending.
I applied for a copy of my record card and was informed they had NO record of me! YET in letters to the branch the elders speak of Brother fokyc.
A recent talk by CO Donald Holley he made it clear; once Baptized and Dedicated you were a Jehovah's Witness
UNTIL either you Dis-associated yourself in writing OR you were Dis-fellowshipped.
I believe they have some strange unwritten rules.

What if you were baptised, but NOT dedicated?? Or what if you were baptised under duress (pressure) and feel it is invalid?? Frustrated there is no
reasonable way out.
