Thanks poopsiecakes for the thread and everyone that responded. I am overwhelmed by the comments.
I started the site because I didn't want people to go through what I did when leaving, or to live in the uncertainty I suffered for many years. It is wonderful to hear that some people were helped.
My mother uses jwfacts.com as a reason for not wanting to speak with me and strongly wants me to take it down. I contemplated it, but know that for as long as she is a devote Witness we cannot associate as mother and son. She would refuse to eat with me regardless of the site. It is this sad situation that makes me all the more determined to assist as many to leave as possible.
Hi Paul, I'm not usually given to public gushing but I honestly felt that I needed to in this case.
I'm so sorry that your relationship with your mother has been hijacked by their shameful shunning practices. I completely sympathize – my mother hasn’t spoken to me in over a year and my sister decided to run ahead of the organization; I haven’t talked to her in over 5 years (I was df’d just over 4 years ago). We all used to be very close and it makes me sad when I think about my situation and sadder still when I think about the sheer volume of people dealing with the same circumstance...it's mind blowing. I still hold out hope that one day we’ll all be able to rebuild our broken relationships. I’m sorry also for the pressures you must have felt to consider taking down the site…please indulge my selfishness when I say that I’m so glad you didn’t.
Thanks to the facts so well presented on your site, as well as the fellowship on this one, I have really started speaking out against JW doctrine to people and it feels damn good!!
Thanks once again and keep up the good work – it’s thanks to people like you that the real truth can get out there.
Paul, you're a damn legend mate. I applaud you, would love to be involved in anything you may put together in the future. :-)
Paul,
I'd like to express my appreciation for your site as well. Just this week my parents informed me they are going to have nothing to do with my wife and I and our family. I am not even DF'd or DA'd but they said they must treat me as such. I guess they are trying to set the example as super spiritual elder and elderette. Your site is even more important to me now that I have lost my family to this cult.
Yeah thanks Paul. You're one clever guy.
I use it all the time (it is open at the moment actually :D). My wife is just waking up to things slowly, I got home the other night from work - and jwfacts was in the history. I never use it from that completed, it was open on the "Generation" page.
even it helps her a little on the way - Paul, should you ever come to europe - beers are on me!
Hey Paul,
How did your parents know about your wicked website?

Thankyou Paul, it is on my favorites lists and I recomend your site to anyone and everyone involved with the WTB in any way....
Great Job Mate
I am sorry to hear how this has affected your family life, but your site could and most likey has already saved many familys from ending up in the same boat- please keep it going.
How did your parents know about your wicked website?
Yesidid - I told my parents about the site when I was still a JW. One of my initial hopes for the site was it would help open my families eyes. That was when I was more idealistic and did not understand how beliefs cannot just be changed by logic or facts alone.
