The Earth Catholic Church went about burning the writings of those whom they found to be heretics and, then, characterized the argument in public Apologia in vile, scurrilous language when "refuting" it.
Have you ever read the debates of early Church Fathers with so-called heretics? How abou the debates of Martin Luther?
Such vile language and outright nastiness is, frankly, almost comical in its intensity.

Jehovah's Witnesses don't have fair confrontations with their opoosers like in the "good old days" anymore. The Internet has premitted way too many damning pieces of self-contradiction public access for it to be safe.
While Christendom has huge successful TV ministries, the Watchtower shuns public access in technology like the plague. Why? They can't afford a mass exposure of their weird fantasy doctrines to be exploded publicly.
Look at how the Catholic Church has been held up to scrutiny and ridicule in the press.
