So then, we come to the topic of 1914, again.
A lot of us on here have said it, and so I decided to write about it.

I am in two minds about it.
The 1914 doctrine is becoming less and less relevant as the years slip by. On the other hand they just don't seem to be able to drop it, it is still mentioned frequently enough in the literature although these are more vague now a days.
I think that it would be extremely difficult to drop it in the near future without it having a big effect on many.
I think your dismissal of 1914 is premature. Their path was in line with your thinking until the overlap doctrine was introduced.
They need urgency in their members' minds. 1914 will live for another "generation" before they dismiss it.
Unless the Society stops referring to it, it won't be forgotten. Duh.
1914 isn't going anywhere.
It's the very foundation of WHY they are knocking on your door. They preach a different good news, which is permanently linked to 1914.
Householder: Why can't I just learn about God at my local church?
JW: Because Jesus didn't pick your church in 1919. We alone have Bible truth. All other religions are false.
Householder: Since WHEN are all other religions false?
JW: Since Jesus made his selection in 1919.
Householder: Why 1919?
JW: Satan was thrown out of Heaven in 1914, and then Jesus made his inspection a few years later.
Householder: [Dumfounded look on face. Shakes head, feeling both pity and irritation at drone on his doorstep.]
2050: "The WTS never taught that! That's just apostate lies... like 1975!"
I suspect JWs are having more and more difficulty getting new recruits to accept the 1914 Generation teaching.
They are trying ,in their snakelike way, to slide away from it, they have known for forty years that it is false, now they are forced, by the passing of time, to distance themselves from it . soon it will be as forgotten as the Russell teaching that the distance from the station in Scranton Penn. to the Bethel was foretold in scripture.
They are likewise sliding away from the blood doctrine, with the laughable fractions thing, but still people die, they ain't slidin' fast enough with that one.

1914 IS stated over and over when they have to "prove" that the 'faithful slave' has God's direction.
It CAN'T be dropped, open the book of Revelation, Grand climax at hand, and pretty much ANY modern prophetic bible fulfillment, their answers are RELIANT on 1914. If they drop 1914, then they must throw out the Revelation book, pretty much EVERY prophetic book and it's answers and redo all of it. At which case, it then means that they never had anything, atleast since Russell, which was beyond state the obvious.
God intended for people to be taught basic truths, then to put their FAITH in him and TRUST in reading HIS word and letting his spirit GUIDE them. By taking that away, he's removed his spirit of understanding from those who command others to reject the spirit as jumping ahead, not true, etc.
Wobble: They are trying ,in their snakelike way, to slide away from it, they have known for forty years that it is false
Anyone in leadership who knew the truth about where 1914 came from, dimensions from a pyramid, had to know it was false. Much longer than 40 years.
