  "Is this cedar?" he repeats the ritual questions of the ceremony. The red heifer is engulfed in a fiery blaze on the altar beside him.

  "Is this cedar?" he asks a final time, having received a resounding "yes" from the crowd each time.

  The cedar wood, along with two other items, is destined to be thrown into the belly of the red heifer as she burns.

  The cedar is a symbol for something. What could it represent? And why must it be destroyed and burned?

  The United Nations, as an organization, is not the scarlet beast of Revelation.

  The scarlet beast does represent the totality of the nations of the world, but not as an organization.

  The scarlet beast represents the entirety of the planet earth.

  WT has misconstrued their arrogant pronouncements because they are ignorant of the true meaning.

  The seven heads of the beast represent the seven continents. The continents are on the face of the earth. The head is the face. The head, or face, of the beast represents the lands of the inhabited planet.

  Just to clarify the WT official stance, the scarlet beast is said to be the totality of the nations of the earth, and its "image" is said to be the UN. The distinction is subtle and missed on 98% of dubs, including most elders, CO's, etc, but it's there. Just as an image represents the reality, the UN represents the nations of the world. It makes sense in a Franzian sort of logic.

  Thanks for that tidbit, Madsweeney. I am not an avid reader of their literature, and was going by what has been emphasized, albeit incorrectly (according to your above statement), by those dubs who have "missed the distinction." Thank you for your input.

  There are three items that are thrown into the belly of the burning red heifer. The symbolism of those items should reveal something surprising and unexpected, in the way that it has not been discussed in the sense that will be addressed.

  Actually, the scarlet beast is more than just "the nations of the world." It depicts the only people who will be left on this planet when it is destroyed. The red hairs of the heifer represent the blood stained brotherhood of violence, warmongering and greed.

  The red heifer used in this rare, unusual sacrifice, must be purely red and without even a single black or white hair. This "purity of color" has been misrepresented as being a state of perfection. You will notice above, in this beautifully rendered painting, the red heifer is being inspected for "imperfection" of color. This reversal of meaning is actually illustrative of combing the earth to look for any righteous which may be left. As long as a righteous person is found, the earth would not be destroyed.

  In using the red heifer as a metaphor, the righteous (illustrated by black or white hairs) would be rare and few in the blood stained world. The inspection of the heifer also represents Jesus searching for any lost sheep before the destruction.

  According to the temple institute, this is one of the requirements for the red heifer:

  The red heifer is not actually a "sacrifice", per se. The reason this red heifer (representing what has become a scarlet beast) must be burned is because it has been defiled. It has had a rider. Through this rider the nations have become a blood soaked world. The Harlot has been the rider. The nations of the world have been yoked, tortured, and grossly mistreated because of this rider. The three items that accompany the red heifer in the flames distinguish the compilation of who the Harlot really is.

  Like I said, it makes just about as much sense as the WT (or any other) prophetic/political explanation of the "scarlet beast".
