What do you expect to find? A doctors certificate? An admission in a Watchtower? Court documents?
I doubt anyone has anything that would be acceptable as proof to a Dubby.

Some links you might look into to:

The Olin Moyle Trial Transcript is available here,
Thanks, i didn't and don't expect to find much PROOF. Looking for what people use to base those ideas on.
The reason i ask is that i am working my way through the WBTS from pre Russell to now. BIG JOB! I am unable to see a few big/bad things and just jump on the 'yep, full of shit false religion mind control cult' bandwagon. Just how it has to be for me i guess.
I am collecting all the major 'apostate' stuff on each person and major claims and then proving them to myself. My criteria is that there must be documented real proof either in secular sources, their own lit or court transcripts or several eye witness testimonies etc. I then list what i find as
True/ plausable/ likely but not provable or outright false.
I am unwilling beleive every thing i read and if i am to fully 'apostasize' and get my kids out i want to KNOW i am right and that i can back up what i might say or do.
eg; i will not tell people Rutherford was an alcoholic if there is only here-say. No matter how much i may want to believe everything bad is true about them, if it's not provable to a very reasonable degree, then i wont believe it.
again, thanks for the links
Oz
P.S. Anybody else approach this like me? Or am i just being anal?!!!
EDIT: This subject is a small part of the picture. In the grand scheme of things it matters little if it can be proved or not. Just dotting my i's and crossing my t's!
I read that thread on the org on auto pilot... geez, there was a good ol ding dong going on wasn't there!
I'm the same way Oz. Being raised a Witness, I took their word for it, that is was the truth. The "research" I did was study the "Live Forever" and "Truth" book before I got baptized at 16. So, before and if, I totally leave, I need to be sure of things with my own research and on my own terms. So, I'm doing similiar research.
His death certificate is on the net which shows he died from spreading anal cancer.
Been looking for the death cert... any links leads?
google is hopless on this one!
eg; i will not tell people Rutherford was an alcoholic if there is only here-say
Good idea.
Try to avoid any subject that requires proof that isn't altready in their heads or in their own library. Save them for after they have a chink in their armour.
I can't stress enough, that you have to keep a really tight reign on your subjects when you are talking to your kids.
This week we have seen Oldflame chuck the garbage can at his 27 yo kid and what happened ??? No reply from the kid. Many of us have done that. I did it. It never works for any of us. Whatever you do, you must resist the urge to rave and the urge to sound like an Apostate.
With Rutherford and booze, who cares really? Think about it from a Dubby's point of view. If he was directed by Holey Spirit, it wouldn't matter if he was pissed or not, and you are just looking for faults, anyway. It is the same with many subjects. It doesn't matter how convincing your position seems to you, you must be wrong because their twaddle is supplied by Jebooboo, so never pick a subject that is propped up by that notion. Choose subjects that undermine the 'selected by Jesus as God's sole mouthpiece in 1919' doctrine and pick them off one at a time.
Cheers
