No, I was using my g'kid's laptop.
It was a horrible experience; I kept hitting the wrong keys and just made a fool of myself!
When my oldest child pays me the $680 dollars that she owes me, I should be good to go!

There are a lot of different flavors of intellect.

Me...
No, actually I think it's a toss up between Blondie and Mary for me. Their WT Comments are amazing.
Some very Intellectual or clever people make mistakes because they start out from a faulty premise.
To me personaly, there is no greater destroyer of intellect than substituting reason with faith. Most conclusions are in some way subjective but faith often requires the suspension of reason.
So I am drawn to posters that are logical, factual and arrive at points in a discussion that actually add up however closely they are scrutinised.
To someone else, a poster that can make sense of the Bible for them will get top marks. Having said that I would think that requires genius! (Sorry for the little dig, I just can't help it)
Who is the person that has helped me the most over many years?
To cut to the chase, my vote, unsurprisingly goes to Terry.
An intellectual is a person who uses intelligence (thought and reason) and analytical thinking, either in a professional or a personal capacity.

Ironically, few posters who are former JW's are unintelligent. They've demonstrated their acumen by LEAVING or staying kicked out!
Well reasoned arguments abound here.
Some of my past favorites have been Narkissos, Pole, Hillary_step and AlanF. But, there aren't any dummies here at all.
Think of all the work Blondie does on her Watchtower comments. Leoleia is a treasure of expertise and analysis. The list could go on and on.
Flipper gets my vote. I always read his posts and comments.

Exactamente!
By the way, self-styled "intellectuals" are crap, as Thomas Sowell explains.

The quick answer is that intellectuals have done both. But certainly, for the 20th century, it is hard to escape the conclusion that intellectuals have on net balance made the world a worse and more dangerous place. Scarcely a mass-murdering dictator of the 20th century was without his supporters, admirers or apologists among the leading intellectuals-- not only within his own country, but in foreign democracies, where intellectuals were free to say whatever they wanted to.
Given the enormous progress made during the 20th century, it may seem hard to believe that intellectuals did so little good as to have that good outweighed by particular wrong-headed notions. But most of those who promoted the scientific, economic and social advances of the 20th century were not really intellectuals in the sense in which that term is most often used.

Thomas Sowell, certainly no fool but clearly an intellectual, has written a book on the subject, titled "Intellectuals and Society." His bottom line: intellectuals, unlike normal people, are unaccountable for what they do, and as a result are unconstrained when it comes to foolishness.

Leoleia gets my vote for emotional reasons. I love that fact that she's on the spectrum like my baby boy. Her brilliance gives me hope for my son who's smart as a whip.
