Accurate-like, "accuratetical", something like that. I like those finds, On the Way Out, especially the second one with "the Creator's promise" about the generation of 1914 sitting right on the same page. I was just surprised to find that there were more statements similar to the ones you posted. I heard about those, but was not expecting to find something quite as bold as the one I found. Not that my find is better or something--they both tell the same story.

(sigh) Please tell me we're all crazy and that this isn't real. It'd make life a lot easier.....

Believers aren't sheep. They are sheep-like.

The quotation marks around the word Prophet mean "Prophet" a meta-meaning has been attached.

The Watchtower Publications use lots of words unique to their own theology for the purpose of window dressing.

    Strange vocabulary often marks cults.

    Quotation Marks Beyond Quoting
Quotation marks may additionally be used to indicate words used ironically or with some reservation.
The great march of "progress" has left millions impoverished and hungry.
Use direct quotations when the author you are quoting has coined a term unique to their research and relevant within your own paper.

AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN I ASK:

Why does the Borg publish all their big trip-up articles in may and ApriL?

Careers, the closing of the door, the new generation....

Is this some secret society pattern?

    An afterthought...

By mixing the use of the word PROPHET in the standard everyday useage with their special meta-meaning "prophet" they have given themselves

the appearance of PROPHETIC AUTHORITY while simultaneously creating an escape-hatch of plausible deniability. This sort of language is frequently employed legally to avoid responsibility.

At the very least it indicates a state of mind fully aware of implications and repercussions.

When the Watchtower article tells us that it is one thing to say the organization acts as a prophet and another thing to prove it.....they really admit full-on how inept their record is.

Now here is a curious strategy. By plunging in immediately with a razzle-dazzle defense of their prophetic record, the Watchtower does nothing but obfuscate the record! Quite typical.

No dictionary contain the words PROPHETLIKE or PROPHETICAL. Now, isn't that interesting that they have coined their own words?

By doing so they can fill that word with meaning or empty it at a moment's notice as their purpose may suit them.

For hamsterbait, a theory: The April-May magazines are actually written and finalized in the dead of winter when the borg leadership are suffering from S.A.D.

So brothers, we may conclude that this organisation is a non-prophet organisation.

A non-prophet organization--LOL, classic. You just opened a can on 'em.

By the way, Terry--excellent, excellent points you made. Particularly disturbing, at the same time--they are indeed fully aware of the repercussions of what they do. That's the only possible explanation for why they go to such efforts and even invent words like "prophetical".

Sometimes, I wish I could pick your brain (and not in the organ transplant/"cannibalism" sort of way), because you've got some interesting stuff going on in there. Thanks for sharing.

SD-7 - just curious, were those articles from before or after russel died? It seems to me a lot of the doctrine changed after he passed away. Or was this kind of craziness around when he was alive? Its amazing how many old items i've come across on this site and other websites. My WT cd from 2008 stops at 1950...

Well, well, it is very interesting how you can invent a word and then apply any meaning you want to it, while the public can be fooled into seeing a different meaning. Prophetic with the suffix of 'al', means to have the character of. So prophetical should mean to have the character of a prophet, unless you are reminding them of a flub, like 1975.

I will coin a word for faders, doormatical, ie, to have the character of a doormat. Meaning when the elders from the KH come calling a fader behaves like a doormat. Not as nice as a welcome mat for the elders, but still a great place to wipe their grubby feet.
