I've been reading a three volume work by John Julius Norwich on The Byzantine Empire. I had read the short version which compressed it all into one book, but it was all a whirlwind of people, plots, eyes putting out, wars, and what not. Trying to put 1100 years of history into one book made it hard to follow. This unabridged version though is much better, less rushed.

"I Know This Much Is True" by Wally Lamb
I'm almost done reading for my 6th or 7th time. Love it!
